***OFFICIAL wisconsin AT MINNESOTA IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

This team has talent. They can compete. These close games come down to attention to detail, and that has been killing us.

Bring in a sports psychologist. Bring in a free throw specialist. Bring in a priest, rabbi and/or imam. Burn incense and perform tantric chants. Whatever it takes to make ball go through basket on free throws. I'll spring for KFC if sacrificing a chicken would work.

Raw talent wasn’t the difference tonight. hasn’t been for years.

On free throws, which were horrific........when Garcia missed his and then Carrington missed one of his, I couldn't help but think we would foul Wisconsin and they'd naturally hit both. Payne commits a brutal foul and sure as schit. Then we foul Wahl, and sure as schit.

Maybe it's time to join the MAC.
I told my wife that Wisconsin was smart enough to make this a free throw shooting contest and, for that reason, I'd take Payne out of the game late, at least on offense. Ironically, it was our good free throw shooters who failed us.

If they play Wisconsin 10 times at home, they win 2 or 3. Wisconsin didn't play well, we hit a high rate of 3's and we still lost.

I’m going to get roasted here, but watching women’s basketball is painful when it’s not a relative or a personal connection.
I have watched very little college women's bball, but generally would agree with this on the little I have.

The women's game is too slow and finesses to be enjoyable to watch, for me.

It's the inverse of volleyball, where the women's game is "right sized" for the court size and the sport, where as the men are too powerful at times.

Now supposedly Caitlin Clark is setting records for women's on TV. I have no idea if it's more enjoyable watching her play.

While disappointing, the Gophers were edged by the 13th ranked team in the nation. This is not, by any stretch, the program's apocalypse.
When does the apocalypse happen? I swear I've been watching it for years.

You CANNOT shoot free throws that poorly, year in and year out. How in the hell is this not addressed? It is not like it's been improving. It has been steadily declining. Shoot even a modest 65% and this is a win.

It is inexcusable.
I have not attended any mens practice sessions but however many made FT’s Ben is asking for it’s not enough……PP really should be shooting them underhand.

Our three point percentage was basically identical to Wisconsin's. Big difference is that our FT percentage was way worse.

Don’t watch but the men could learn some fundamentals like passing, FT’s and playing team ball. The Gopher women must have watched the men cuz this is their worst start this season. Ugly border battle tonight.

It's the truth, anybody roasting you for this is delusional

Minnesota is comfortable with losing. It's the culture. Wisconsin has a much higher level of expectation when it comes to sports and winning. Milwaukee Bucks fired their coach today because he was too soft on defense. The Bucks are 30-13 and in first place.
Husband feels this is spot on. Ever since Paul Giel was AD.

Seriously! You don’t think it’s been addressed? C’mon man get real. Coach can’t shoot the free throws!

The ending was so predictable. Bad turnover leads to an easy bucket. Terrible possessions with no purpose. Missed free throws while they make them.
