Bowl Game Thread, 2020

Love that Liberty University, the private Christian University founded by Jerry Falwell, hired Hugh Freeze, the guy who resigned from Ole Miss after it was discovered that he hired multiple escorts over a five year (probably more) period from his University cell phone.

Playing Coastal Carolina in the Cure Bowl right now.
Hugh also double dipping while serving as Jerry Jr.’s pool boy. Gotta make that paper.

With the Nashville incident hard to know how that will impact I-O-W-A and Mizzou fans for the Music City Bowl. I do not know Nashville, so when they say it occurred in the "entertainment district" I'm guessing it's like Beale Street or the Warehouse District for example as a place to enjoy for bowl game fans. I'm guessing bowl management is working on whether to cancel or not.

I doubt that it is Beale Street as that is 200+ miles away in Memphis.

You could see the Titan's stadium (where the Music City Bowl takes place) from the blast site, but the game was cancelled because Mizzou got covid.

Ball State is absolutely dismantling the undefeated #22 San Jose State Spartans....27-0 a few minutes until half.

It doesn't look even remotely fair.

Good to see the Pirate win versus the Tulsa imitators.

Ugly brawl after the Miss State/Tulsa game. Terrible. #4 (I'm assuming Malik Heath....there are two #4's) kicks a guy when he's down and then sprints away like a coward. Player from Tulsa had to be helped off the field when it was over. Bad scene for CFB.

if there are not multiple suspensions and players being kicked off teams from this. man
Would you describe it as more of a donnybrook, brouhaha, or kerfuffle?

Saw the replay. Did see the idiot sprint away just like a coward as you said. What a loser.

Think Fleck might have a word with our guys on what happens if they do something like this (aka probably kicked off the team)?

Northwestern just went down the field with ease and Auburn went 3 and out. Announcers mentioned lot of Auburn players not playing too.

Honestly, Northwestern is looking scary good for the future years to come. Not looking as rosy for us. 😞

Also, is this the first time in a long time, if ever, that the Big Ten is favored in both the Citrus and Outback Bowls?

I'm not entirely sure that this is true. They'll have a lot more eyes on them after this year. And, just looking at their 2021 schedule, they play at both Indiana AND Notre Dame. If they go undefeated with those two wins, I think they'd have a good case.

And 14-0 NW. Obviously Auburn just doesn't want to be there and NW is far worse

Also whoever the officiating guy who is providing "color" on the officiating in the Cinci-Georgia game is horrendous. real tough listen

Not every day you see a lineman ejected for targeting. Just happened to the Cincy left tackle.

Northwestern is up 14-0....and Auburn can't move the ball. So they go for it on 4th and 3rd from midfield and hand the ball over with a short field?

Very stupid move.

Just watched the kick catch interference call on the Northwestern's punt. I couldn't see why it was called, can anyone explain it? It looked like the returner just tried to back away from the kick and it hit him.

Probably but they’re still having to prove they belong by beating an SEC team.
