He just visited MN last weekend. Going to Nebraska this weekend.

Will the Gophers extend an offer Butler JC OT Garrison Wright (at 6 5 310)? I don't know how good this kid is if he is good enough to start right away. He does have size. He and Vincent Calhoun (at 6 4 335) can possibly make an impact.

The rash of injuries to the O-Line proved very costly for the Gophers this season, and underscores the need for quality depth.

The 2016 recruiting thread has been slow. Any word about any of our targets/visitors?

What are you expecting, we don't have a head coach. It would be a miracle to get any positive news until Claeys is given the job.

We probably lose Vincent Calhoun to ECU next week if Claeys isn't named by then. And Webber, two guys that were penciled in as starters next year.

Not saying your wrong but what makes you believe that? I haven't heard anything about them looking elsewhere.

Don't know that much about Calhoun right now but Im not worried about Webber's new offers. I think he stays.

Tre Bryant just committed to Nebraska

What's keeping Kaler and Goetz from doing the plausible thing and making Claeys the head coach?

Is this another MN bureaucratic bungling with burdensome regulation? It is already costing us recruits, and maybe the entire coaching staff, and they are going to do nothing until a new AD is in place long after NSD?

Relax they just got the Ellis situation handled! I'm thinking something may happen within the next few weeks. Does anyone know if the coaching vacancy has been posted internally? That would be the first step.

I fully expect that we will hear coaching news in the next week. Could be wrong, but the sequence seems to suggest this is the week. Ellis is out, there's a week between the Michigan ending, and now they can move on.

The fact that sid said it would happen last week makes me feel like it'll happen this week.

The thing that bugs me is that even if there is a posting requirement internally or externally, the administration could still post the job and then leak to Joe Christensen/Justin Gaard/Marcus Fuller that Claeys is set to be hired and that it's a "done deal." Legally speaking, I believe this would still fulfill the posting requirements without violating any laws/rules. And 3-4 major reporters confirming that Claeys is the guy would be a strong enough stance to get back to business on the recruiting trail and with current recruits.

Actually it is not a law when hiring coaches. They do not have to post the job!

Couldn't decipher his name from the twitter account. Do you know his full name?

Hmmmmm.......! I would not be surprised to see a couple of new commitments soon.

Thanks to Acting AD Beth Goetz. Pres. Eric Kaler, and Regent Dean Johnson for the courage to do the right thing under difficult circumstances.!
