Gophers #112 in initial KenPom rankings

OOC according to KenPom:

Bethune Cookman - 350
UTSA - 238
Missouri - 55
USC Upstate - 280
Arkansas Pine Bluff - 339
San Francisco - 93
New Orleans - 292
FGCU - 147
IUPUI - 320
Ball State - 228
Maine - 258

Higher than I would've guessed. Which is disappointing in so many ways

I don’t think I’ve ever seen an 11 game OOC schedule with 3 300+ and 5 200+ opponents. Only 3 opponents in the top 200. This is a clear indicator we have no hope for the postseason, as (even should we win some games) this crap will not be competitive with bubble teams that took their schedule seriously.

Ben is doing things never seen before...

i think the gophers finished last season at 217 on kenpom. this is a huge jump. keep it up and in a couple of years we'll be in discussions for a number one tourney seed

The hockey games were great over the weekend.

I wish hoops were playing each other it would be fun…
That's literally the only press Gopher basketball is getting outside of the beat writers. "What an embarrassing schedule. Should play St Thomas".

8 quad 4 games, 1 q3, and 2 q2s.

FGCU was a q4 in SS’ analysis but are expected to be 40 spots better. Ball State, otoh, dropped to q4 - their best player portaled and they’re 70 spots lower.

Minnesota is much higher than last year, too. Still 14th, but better.

This is an interesting one. Shrewsberry must not have had a lot of initial success in the portal like he did at PSU.

Yeah, this projects to be a bad year for them. He's got a top 15 class coming in for 2024, so combined with that and some portal additions, they will probably take a big leap in 2024-2025.
