All Things Transfer Portal Thread

The players transferring in outweigh the players who left. "Addition by subtraction." An unknown math major.

PJ has done a good job holding onto key players in the transfer portal era and bringing in transfers that can help the team.

Yeah, no team is going to be able to stay totally clear of the insanity in terms of players leaving but overall we have done a solid job of keeping key pieces.

Our interior OL will have to deal with this guy in the Rose Bowl (Stadium) after all:

Get used to frenetic roller coaster rosters. It is the new normal.

Lots of time for players to leave still and some of these may not make it to campus. Promising group, but lots of time before the first game.

What a difference a few months make. Did we ever think that PJ could pull off a 2024 transfer portal list like this from this list of schools below?

The only way this makes sense to me is if he’s telling these guys that the U is going to be able to start paying directly for their NIL, very soon.

DTA did not win these guys, with duck beer and other bake sale gimmicks.

I know at least the transfers from Clemson, LSU and UGA were guys that Fleck recruited out of high school, so there was at least some kind of pre-existing relationship in those cases.

I loved when he signed with the Gophers, and like a bunch of G-Holers (gawd, that sounds awful), was hoping he’d have a breakout season. Good luck to him and I hope he lands at a great spot for him to play.

Played in only one game for the Gophers? Good for him. He gave it a shot. Hope he finds a school where he can see the field and it means that the Gophers aren't worried about back-up depth.
Looks like pwo Jackson Hunter played ahead of him. Maybe Tony Nelson or Spencer Alvarez moved ahead of him as well?

Has anyone heard if there are any portal players of note visiting this weekend?

Joining Rossi at MSU?

PJ & Gopher football's annual transfers has increased in quality & longer eligibility. A sign of a program on the rise with a head coach that attracts players, coaches, parents, businesses & fans. PJ Hall, PJ Tower PJ Way PJ Day have nice rings to them. "Jump in the boat or risk swimming with the sharks" Harvey Mackay

with unlimited transfers, a player like Varner from a lower level can use Spring practice as a form of try-out camp. If he plays great, he sticks with the new club. If he doesn't think he's going to play, then it's back in the portal and look for a different opportunity.

we are living in strange times.

Joined the team in Jan and did spring ball but must have seen the writing with his spot on the depth chart
So we get to speculate about an even NEWER WR transfer!

Does worry me a little about the WR room though. You’d think a guy with that much experience would have been able to step up. Or maybe the WR room is more solid/talented than we know?
