All Things 2019-2020 Other College Basketball Games Thread

Anybody else see the end of the Wisconsin Maryland game? Wisconsin was behind 54-53, had the ball with 42 seconds to go and got a shot clock violation. 12 seconds to go and Wisconsin gets the ball back by deflecting the inbounds pass and Davidson makes a three. Maryland gets off a desperation shot but misses and Wi wins 56-54. Unbelievable finish.

Did that ball bounce out of bounds first? Never saw a clear replay.
Didn’t they get a call on a ball of kings leg a possession or two prior?

Mark Turgeon is a terrible coach. His team was up 1 at Wisconsin with 12 seconds left and the ball under their own basket. He calls timeout. They basically do nothing to attempt to get the ball in and his inbounder tries a terrible pass that is tipped away by Davison and then tipped again by Davision off the inbounder who is still standing out of bounds. Wisconsin ball. Timeout Wisconsin. Wisconsin run an extremely basic out of bounds play where Davison curls to the right corner. He's wide wide WIDE open for a corner 3 which he makes. Timeout Maryland now down 2 with 10 seconds left. They inbound the ball to Cowan who dribbles up the court and launches a low percentage 3 that misses. Horn sounds. Ball game. Not only did Maryland show no creativity in any of these situations, they couldn't cover the most basic of inbounds plays. It's pretty clear why their fanbase can't stand Turgeon after watching that display.

wisky lucked out that that took place outside of 2 minutes.

You could read the ref...he blew his whistle and patted his knee (of which it hit King’s knee pretty clearly) but then decide to switch because maybe (?) he missed a foul that knocked it out of King’s hands.

Can’t think of a coach in college basketball that has gotten less out of his roster than Mark Turgeon. He has a roster of 4 and 5 star recruits every year and he’s managed to make the Sweet 16 once in 8 seasons. It’s pretty incredible.

Wisconsin didn't score after that. Missed a shot and Wahl rebounded, was fouled but missed front end. But WI must have felt fortunate when it was clearly off King, bad call, and the clock was 2:03.

Hurt with 2 points too, his brother scored 5 against Clemson :ROFLMAO:
Hurt is averaging 10 points and shooting 40% on threes while playing 20 plus minutes on a team where 10 guys play 14 plus minutes. All as a true freshman.

Yet he didn’t play much last night because he was a ‘matchup liability’ against Clemson.

I'd take him. Let's get him back here where he belongs! :) He would be having a lot of fun here playing alongside of Oturu and getting 30 minutes a game..... Coach K will recruit right over the top of him if he can and maybe he already has in Brakefield.

Decent shooting numbers but his defensive liabilities and soft play significantly erode his value. I have my doubts about his jump to the NBA next year.

I always think of him and Leonard Hamilton at FSU of guys that always have the freakish talent and cannot get them to play cohesive basketball in tough environments.
How many times have the gophers played FSU and you’ve just thought Jesus we don’t belong in the same league as these guys from an eye test and find out we lose by 5 or beat them soundly. Those FSU teams always look amazing and never do anything.

No way he is in the NBA next year. If he wants to go make money somewhere, he can do that. He needs 2-3 years to be NBA material.

Watching duke now - Jones doesnt look right and hurt missing in action. If hurt would have stayed h would have had all the minutes in the world and would be A big fish in a small pond unlike the opposite at duke.

Coach K couldn't win an NCAA title with Zion Williamson, all prospects go there for the name at this point.

Wow. 10 ppg? What an incredible feat... it's almost easy to forget that he was the #12 ranked recruit in the nation and the #2 ranked PF.

If Hurt wasn't having doubts about his playing time and role on the team when he first arrived at Duke, he sure is right now. He's being completely overshadowed by Vernon Carey and won't be the 1-and-done that his dad wanted him to be. If Hurt stayed home he would've had Demir's minutes and more.

Haven't watched Duke much this year but from what I've seen he's looked pretty slow and unathletic. Curious about others thoughts on this.

12-0 start for Rutgers at the RAC. Taking out Indiana.

If Rutgers and Maryland can be really good in MBB and decent (with a handful of good) at other non-football sports, that’s a net value add to the conference. I’ll take it!

They were not lucky on the same play where King's arm was pulled away prior to the ball going off his leg. It should have been a foul. We got the ball out of bounds vs. shooting ft's.

about to be 12-1 on Sunday!

#18 Seton Hall at #5 Butler tied at 65 with sub 4 to play. Hopefully Butler can pull this one off

Gonzaga vs. Santa Clara huge matchup in conference. Oh wait, gonzaga up 21 in first 10 minutes. Nevermind!

Luka Garza is an absolute spaz. One of those punchable personalities.

That is all.
