Adam Kisaayi Commits to Gophers! (UPDATED 7/13: Adam De-Commits from Gophers)

This kid's highlights are insane. It's not so much the plays but he has a freaky athletic profile. He could hold 260 lbs and look light (that's a compliment) and when he hits stride he kind of looks like a WR.
I agree, pack some weight and strength on him and he looks like he’ll have a high ceiling.

So who made him a better offer?
DLs are a very scarce commodity.
It will be interesting to see where he ends up.

Get used to it. The Gophers used to poach Western Michigan. Now, it is the Gophers being poached. What is worrisome is the poaching of depth guys that developed in the Gopher system.

Not sure what you are talking about relates to a decommitment like this one.

Decommits happen all the time, sucks but it is what it is. Better to have a kid change his mind now than to sign and transfer right away.

It has been part of the recruiting landscape since before NIL and the Transfer Portal. Every team has to deal with it.

PJ Fleck loses an early commitment early enough he can go to Plan B, C, etc.

If he does go with Clemson he will be the second player they’ve flipped from us in as many years. Then again we’ve gotten a couple DT transfers from them.

Bummer, I was pretty excited about this one. Oh well plenty of time to fill the spot. While I appreciate the upgrade Fleck has brought with recruiting, it sure makes it boring to fill up the class so early.

Fleck and Sweeney are similar in many aspects so not surprising that we’ve seen players move between programs.

At some point the Gophers need to start Fleck-sing the fact that they, not Clemson, has more money for football starting in 2024.

17 year old high school students are gonna pick which school to play football for based on a TV contract?

Yes.

Not solely and explicitly for this, but huge TV contracts mean more money for nicer stuff and can also pay for things private donors used to pay for, leaving that donor money earmarked for players in the NIL system.

Instead of passing the hat for the practice facility or Athlete's Village the U can spend the TV lucre on such things and pass the hat for "Dinkytown Athletes"
