If this was the WCHA, that penalty against Abbey Murphy repeatedly hasn't been called. This game is happening on the East Coast against a ECAC team, so here Minnesota gets the proper call for a change.

Minnesota robbed badly in game 1 against Ohio State, as a reminder, that went to overtime.

Abbey Murphy had a goal and assist and Emma Kreisz assisted on two goals to pace the Gophers women's hockey team to a 3-1 victory over Harvard in the D1 in DC event at the Medstar Capitals Iceplex in Arlington, Va.

The No. 4-ranked Gophers outshot the Crimson 44-12 and converted two of three power-play opportunities en route to their fifth consecutive victory.

"Good game here today," Gophers coach Brad Frost said. "We were able to control the puck and control the pace, which was great. Harvard defended really well and had good goaltending, but we're happy with the win and we're looking forward to playing Cornell tomorrow."..

Minnesota's Abbey Murphy is Forward of the Week by netting three goals over the weekend in a pair of games out East. The Evergreen Park, Illinois, native scored once in the Gopher's 3-1 win over Harvard and then scored twice in a 5-1 victory over No. 9 Cornell the next night. With those three tallies, the redshirt junior scored her 50th career goal at Minnesota. This is the second time she has been WCHA Forward of the Week in 2023-24. In addition to her three goals, she also registered one block, one assist, a plus-2 rating, and 16 shots on goal. She's up to a team-high of 23 points in just 13 games played this season.

Minnesota's offense has picked up from very good to even better (but not yet best), while still playing strong in areas like penalty kill, defense, winning.

I wonder why St. Thomas is listed as winless in the WCHA when they did beat Minnesota State in the U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame Game. Apparently that was not a conference game.
