I read the article and some of the comments. I liked the one comment by someone who said he doesn't pay attention to these stories. Yet, he took the time to open up the article and write a response. There were comments mocking him because he thinks it would be a lot of money if his mother made $100,000 a year. There are an awful lot of people out there for whom that kind of money is a dream.
There were a lot of comments assuming that he's stupid. There are a lot of people who want recruits to come to their schools, but have utter contempt for them. Sure, there are some players who don't care much about education, but there are a lot of players who have spent their whole lives getting good enough to get an athletic scholarship, because that is the only way they are going to be able to go to college.
The guy is just overwhelmed by people who want a piece of him. Harrassing recruits only makes them less interested in your school.
