News on Shaka Smart

Is it just me, or does anyone else think Richmondinsider and Gopher+Ram fan one in the same? Seemed like Gopher+Ram fan replied to one of Richmondinsider's posts in the amount of time it takes to log out and log back in under a different ID.
And yes, it was just a lame excuse to 1. add to the epicness, and 2, bump it one last time

And...why my post was moved into the 89 page Shaka thread is a mystery? It wasn't about Shaka but just the coaching search in general. I think the mods are getting burned out.

Nearly every coach mentioned would be taking a downgrade to come here. Not hating but that's the state of the program currently.

Johnnyboy not a friend of the program. Wanted to keep Tubby around to keep the program down

Anyone who loves the U is a friend of the program.

But, ever have a friend lead you into trouble?! Ever have a friend give you bad advice? No one is perfect, and there are tons of people who love this country who disagree about how to run it. And there are tons of people who love this university, who disagree with what is best for it.

But gotta respect that for the most part, we all do love the U of Mn.

Wonder what ever did happen to Johnny gopher? I think Bleed actually knew him? Maybe?

I talk to him almost daily via text, and watched games with him last week. He still reads the board all the time, but according to him he's "too lazy to sign in." He's as passionate as ever about the Gophers.

Go Gophers!!

Grant is worse than Smith. Nobody knows who is or or would want to play for him. It'd be a Dan Monson 2.0 deal. But, typically, Minnesota makes the wrong call. That's why I hope Teague is different and brings in a high-profile coach rather than a guy who is on the hot seat at his old job.

Not saying you aren't right, but what makes anyone think that Shaka Smart isn't Dan Monson 2.0?

Always had good inside knowledge too. Could be useful with this tight lipped coaching search lol

I can almost guarantee that 4 or 5 of the vocal (and frequent) posters on the board will disappear once Tubby is situated somewhere; they had no other purpose than to blindly defend Tubby (even if what he did harmed the program) irrespective of the situation

I really don't think Tubby harmed the program. I think he just failed to grow and advance the program to what we expect and deserve. Once I came to accept that, I came to realize that is was just time to try again with a new, younger, and more effervescent coach.

Believe me once he gets hired I'm not going anywhere. I thought Tubby deserved to be back next year but now that he's not I'm not going to cry if the Gophers end up with a better coach.

Agree that this is very well stated.

+1

It took Northwestern 13 years to realize what Minnesota realized in 6 years. This is the same analogy that USC and UCLA have had applied to them.

How about a televised cage match with Richmondinsider and his dogs going up against that Ram Gopher guy and his privates and specialists. The Bartender Mo-Mo can be the ref? But gotta get Pav involved some how?

PAV can ring the bell just like Pavlov, for the dogs

Well, I was a Tubby supporter up until the IU game. And yes, I was partially in denial, and I was partially just giving him the benefit of the doubt out of principal, and I was also being a devil's advocate as well, forcing Tubby detractors to work harder to prove their case. But they DID prove their case and I'm 100% on board with the firing of Tubby and will not go anywhere.
