We're looking forward to hosting The University of Minnesota fans in Los Angeles on September 3rd. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Trojan fans are fairly laid back, but we love to tailgate, and the later the game, the better...more time to eat, visit the campus and watch the games played on the east coast. Visiting fans are treated well, as long as they are respectful..you'll get lots of offers of food, drink and a guided tour of campus.

A video of campus for anyone who wishes to view..

I'm sure your alumni living in Los Angeles will provide you with information and places to stay or visit, but we wish to make you feel welcome as well, the great thing about programs that actually travel to play games is, you get an opportunity to interact with opposing fans..and learn a little something about their traditions.

Come visit WeAreSC to chat, the board has no word filters and minimal moderation, yet it is a great place to talk some good natured smack.

Hope to see you at the game!

I think the main question we will have is if the humidity is always above average there.

Bastard! You beat me to it!

IALTO.

The second question, in addition to the above, is are you engaged? And will you send us a link to your ESPN member profile?

thanks for the post, my first reaction would be what are your thoughts on the squad? I have heard and read some things saying they aren't looking too good in spring ball but I have to assume they will be a very good squad based on the incredible amount of talent on the roster, even with a (insert derogatory term here) coach.

Trojan, you're a little early to try engaging in a discussion about a game this fall.

Most people on this board are unwilling to let go of the discussion of whether or not last year's QB had any business wearing a uniform for a D-1 college football team. It seems to be excruciatingly painful to some people that others must just be too damn blind to see that he was an embarassment to the position.

Get with the program and join in the fun!!!

We have mild weather, not accustomed to high humidity at all...it may be really hot though. I'll keep you informed.

Haha, funny guy. Love it, it appears you gentlemen are charming to ladies. I'm not one of the lovely ladies in my avatar, but I know plenty of them to make introductions, lol.

Our squad this year is one big, huge ? mark...the offensive line is very green, protection is a concern. We just had our Huddle, which didn't look very promising...but there was a great deal of talent sidelined with injuries. Should be a competitive game!

I don't wish to be disrespectful and present an impression of littering your board with links, but I can provide a link to articles on the status of the program. I can certainly pm any information requested..no sugar coating anything.

As for Kiff...he has been as quiet as a church mouse in the PAC, we certainly will not tolerate the behavior displayed while he was a coach in the SEC.

The blonde on the end was giving me "the look" last September. Please tell her to stop calling and texting me. Thanks.

the humidity and ESPN profile comments are related to a female MTSU fan that camped out on our board leading up to our first road game last year. She kept reminding everyone that the humidity was unbearable in Tennessee, and through the mountains of posts - we got to know more about her than we knew about ourselves. It was classic, and it will undoubtedly come up any time a female fan of an upcoming opponent posts here.

Actually, just typing that description has allowed my memory to refill with the fun of those days nearly a year ago. Dasher this, Dasher that. Humidity. Projected largest crowd in the history of football fandom, etc. etc. It was classic the way all the predictions just fell by the wayside. Dasher was suspended, MTSU got about 3 offensive plays for the game, the stadium looked about half full, the game was played in weather that was cooler and more dry than most of the preseason Gopher workouts, etc...

And the Gophers won, and for awhile, everything seemed like it was going our way.

Then...

Trojan Princess...

I've attended games against UCLA and Cal. Cal fans are pretty laid back Lots of sweaters tied around their necks and pumping the wine down, Bruin fans were pretty tight ass, of course the game I went too was back in the 70's when they were a much better football team. Lately, I'm sure they've had a good dose of humble pie. The SC fans that traveled to Minnesota last year were pretty cool. I would say probably the worst fans I've run into from the Pac 10 would be the Oregon Duck fans. We played them in a couple of minor bowl games and they were a bunch of. winers.

Dear God...Tennesse fans are, to state kindly, crazy and obsessed. We still continue to hear all this crap regarding the abrupt departure of you-know-who...I mean, come on..burning couches, rioting, threatening a young coaches wife and his children and carrying on like lunatics..all over a coach. They are a piece of work.

No, none of that here. I think both our fanbases understand the cyclical nature of CFB, we have both been on top, and we've certainly had our share of the valleys. All I can hope for, is a good game with no injuries.

By the way, SEC fans are always talking about the humidity, and their vast superiority in toughness and speed..the heat in that game at Auburn in 2003 was a killer, but the soft, California beach fags (their words) managed to shut them out. Their coach apologized to the Auburn fans, and said they would never play us again.

I'm sure you heard the same thing.

Duckie fans are an embarrassment, they act like the classic "we've never done anything, but you're going to hear about what we have done"

I have to say that the worst fans we've ever had the misfortune to encounter were Iowa fans at the 2003 Orange Bowl. When you consider the programs from all over the country that we have played (I was on campus when John McKay was our coach), that is a significant statement.

Here's a funny little article in the Times about USC tailgates...

Love this

I live 50 miles south of the University of Spoiled Children. Pete Carroll ran out the back door to his "dream job" as the NCAA was kicking in the front door for multiple violations. Heck, SC's skilled players are better then the Seahawks, and higher paid. Kiffen comes in to "cleanup the program" LOL, talk about a fox in the hen house. Wait till those 40 scholarships lost start kicking in. Gotta love the campus, wall built around it to keep out the worst ghetto west of Stoney Island. I love the fight song, all 8 notes. What was Sc's record last year? The o line and d line will stink. BTW, any penalties from the Kiffin Tennesse year follows him to SC, not kidding, look it up. His official visit escort service was a great idea. Fight on spoiled children.

Even though I wasn't around then, I've heard that in the weeks leading up to our game against Alabama in the 2004 Music City Bowl, everyone was talking about their vaunted #2 ranked run defense and how they would kill us since we had a run-oriented offense. Then they were introduced to future NFL backs Marion Barber III and Lawrence Maroney. That shut them up pretty well ;)

Ho hum..."is that all ya got" junior? :D

At the very least, man up and proclaim your university affiliation. I smell a bRUIN, or someone who sleeps with one.

popeyoung5 and your "Spoiled Chicken" reference. I am sorry little one, I was under the impression that only the GopherHole had 12-year-old commentors that acted and talked stupid. Please put your pacifier back into your mouth and say something meaningful.

I have a whole lot more. How about the Freshman linebacker from Arizona that caught a stray slug in the leg during August practice about ten years ago. My Daughter was on campus for a basketball clinic 3 summers ago and was almost assaulted walking to the dorms. If daddy has $46,000/year and Biff can fog a mirror, fight on! Gotta be exciting walking down Hoover, Crenshaw and MLK on a friday nite for some fresh air. Badger alum, and yes, I date a Bruin.

I believe you will also get a visit on your board from a special Iowa fan anytime now, if he isn't there all ready. Also, best to stay away from the bathrooms when Iowa is in the same stadium as you are.

Please come to WeAreSC to discuss - point by point...I'm not going to lower myself to engage in gossip or hate on a respected opponent's message board. Please come, this should be interesting.

My apologies to Gopher fans for the pollution and lack of manners.

You think so? Funny, they talked a lot of smack and gross vulgarity, but they disappeared during the 3rd quarter of the game. I would expect the same cowardice now.

Who knows, the Buckeye fans have certainly cleaned up their act, they were actually tolerable and rather pleasant their last trip to L.A. Far different from the old Woody Hays days.

Hey Trojan Princess are there any bars around the Coliseum for pregame festivities?

Can we get back to what's important?

More about the Song Girls, please.

Hey Trojan Princess are there any bars around the Coliseum for pregame festivities?

That aren't Trojan bars? Believe me, you will be offered plenty of drinks by Trojan tailgaters...a little respect goes a long way..

From SI, which I believe has no bias:

Drinks

Aside from the requisite Coors Light and bloody marys, fancier beverages flourished. Many tailgates uncorked bottles of wine, and others featured premium and imported beer. When it came time for shots of tequila, they were poured from a bottle of Patrón. In addition to all the top-shelf drinks, many men puffed on cigars even early in the morning.

And food..

Eats

This rotating lamb is one of the culinary highlights at a USC tailgate.

The USC fan base is one of the most ethnically diverse in the country, a fact evidenced by the gameday grub. Nearly every tailgate cooked up some kind of meat, but the style and flavor varied tremendously. An entire lamb rotated on a spit for hours while being bathed in a lemon juice marinade. Carne asada tacos were served with a tasty guacamole sauce. Others grilled ribs, chicken, and all kinds of sausage, from hot links to bratwurst. All cooking was a big production and the most important aspect of the day.

Hey, we live right next to Badgers. We're used to them being jerks both on the internet and in person.
