Like anyone they would hire, he would need to be evaluated as to what he brings to the program. I was just assuming that he has done a good job of developing and supporting players in a positive way.

Under no circumstances should they bring in someone just to appease the AAU crowd, only if the person is a good coach.
 


Come on Mr. Dave guy. Don't pretend like Chet would have come here had we wired his aau coach. This comment is two years too late. Had Chet reclassified, he and Jalen could have graduated high school together, won a championship at Minnesota under assistant coach Larry Suggs, and both been top 10 picks in the 2021 nba draft.
 

AAU coaches are nothing but pimps for players. Making their cash off of the shoe companies that endorse their AAU teams.

It has also no doubt assisted in the development of the the level of talent Minnesota now produces. Amateurism is the catalyst behind the current system.

Does it increase their development? Or does it just increase their exposure?

Do the AAU coaches really teach anything? Or just get these guys in front of college scouts at prestigious tournaments.

I've seen how these elite teams play. They look like they coach themselves.
