Did you watch the linked high school game on an indoor court?
His defensive effort is not where I would expect "everyone else's" to be.
I'm not saying he CANT play defense or that he is behind on anything. I'm simply stating the defense in the above video from a tactic and effort standard won't make it very far. I then stated I wouldn't be surprised if that's pretty consistent with top flight talent.
Your original post said he needed to learn defense and offensive team concepts which typically means 'doesnt know how to play the game'. Effort is a different issue entirely. To that point it doesnt worry me at all as that seems to be an issue with a ton of recruits. Guys that have been the focus of yheir teams offense for the majority of their lives are rarely hustle and effort guys as well in high school. If they are then great but its pretty common. Ive seen the same said on here about about 70% of local recruits. Either its lack of histle or effort or whatever. Ill take the guy that can score 40+ points in a game and trust that at the next level he'll figure out the required effort level quickly
