All Things Dothan Ijadimbola Recruitment Thread (2026 forward, Totino Grace HS, Gophers Offered)

Seeing that you have Mpls in your name it makes sense cause nobody can come up with a good HS basketball conspiracy like a Minneapolis city basketball fan. If you turn on your common sense and look into things like the Ahjany recruitment you will quickly notice that when he was a sophomore/16 and Under player at Byron the offers came in at a high level because Lee was showing high major potential. Ajhany was a nationally ranked prospect by several places after his 16u season. But then a year later when he was a 17 and under player playing on the D1 Mn second team after having played at Byron for a year with those high major offers he had not taken steps forward and fell back to a mid or low major player, and the offers than reflect that (look at that dates). All of the recruitment was over by the time he was at Totino-Grace.

Kids love to have these announcements with schools listed that make them look good and Daniel Freitag's announcement is the latest big media production of that. Ahjany was the same way as he did not have any high majors on him after coaches saw him play 17 and Under. Look for yourself here https://www.verbalcommits.com/players/ahjany-lee#google_vignette for the dates on things.
And you can look at national rankings for Dothan Ijadimbola, obviously there is something to it as he is the only Minnesota player listed in all of them.

But don't let those facts get in the way of a good basketball conspiracy theory coming out of Minneapolis!
This is funny! Btw FRANK, your favorite players are from Minneapolis. They just don’t go to Mpls. schools… hey I don’t blame them.

Back to my conspiracy theory. He plays on a 2nd team and gets HM offers? D1, Prep Hoops, at Totino Grace are one and in same. You don’t they were pushing those fake offers as recruiting tool to get to TG? Of course they did! Wonder what the Byron coaches opinion is lol. But it’s good to see TG coaches on Gopher Hole

Top 50 player on 247. Would be a GREAT get if we can get him.

Per Marcus:

Word is the top 16U and 17U D1 Minnesota teams faced off in a practice earlier this spring, and the younger boys had the edge. Tomes, Wiggins and Eden Prairie's Nolan Anderson joined D1 Minnesota from Team Tyus after the AAU program sponsored by former Apple Valley star and NBA guard Tyus Jones folded in the offseason.

Tomes was key. The crafty 6-foot point guard played at the Gophers team camp last summer with East Ridge and shined in front of Johnson and his staff. Tomes' deep shooting range and floor leadership also attracted an early offer from Iowa State.

"When some schools see younger players have potential, there's no reason to wait," Tomes said. "If you get on them early, that makes it a lot easier for developing [relationship] purposes. I love the [Gophers] coaching staff. They're always welcoming. I love going to their games, no matter who they're playing."

Tomes and Ijadimbola often attended Gophers games together at Williams Arena last season. Ijadimbola's one of the highest rated local prospects across all classes at 45th nationally in 2026 by 247 Sports and 52nd by Rivals. His best offers right now are from Iowa State, Iowa, Oklahoma, and the Gophers.

Ijadimbola, a powerfully built 6-6 wing, capped off his high school season with Totino-Grace's second straight Class 3A state title at the Barn in March. His goals are high for AAU as well.

D1 Minnesota 16U's reputation building this spring could create more exposure in recruiting this summer.

"To get to that commitment point, you want to have a lot of options," Ijadimbola said. "But we're not focused on that. We're just trying to hoop and play. Winning attracts coaches."

Go Gophers!!
