All Things Chet Holmgren Recruitment Thread (Class of 2021, Gophers Have Offered)

Im not sure who is crazier in this thread, the guy who says he doesnt want him here or the people who actually think we have a shot at him!

Of course we want him. He is a unicorn. Going to be a great player from day one.

Who's crazier the guy who thinks he has a shot with Emily Ratajkowski or the guy who says no to her?

who is crazier the guy who thinks we have no chance or the guy who thinks Walters actually knows something

You’d have to think Oturu and Carr elevating their play so much has to catch the attention of 1 and done candidates like Chet?!

Oturo going pro only makes the U better in Chet's eyes. This recruitment will be interesting to watch.

Roy Williams was at Minnehaha practice to check out Chet, Prince, and Hercy. Chet recieved an offer.

Go Gophers!!

If you want to see what a healthy fanbase looks like read through all of the responses to his tweet. Hundreds of people trying to convince him to come to either NC or the Zags. One guy out of the 400 says you should stay home and play with Oturu and the home team.

If you guys really want to make a difference - get on social media and stump for the gophers. Next time you see him at a game go up and shake his hand to let him know "You would look great in Maroon and Gold!", and "You're the guy to help take the gophers to the Final Four next year!" and "your the final piece!"

Seriously, if you want to help the team the last thing you should be doing is being negative on GH. Don't listen to Built, the stuff that gets posted online makes a huge difference to the Millennial and Gen Z generations.

Terrific post!!

Chet will never play for the Gophers as long as Pitino is here. Might as well shut this thread down now.

This is not on Pitino. Daniel is on his way to the NBA and was coached by P. Chet just listed the Gophers to get the locals off his back until he picks a blue blood

Well the 1 crystal ball prediction on 247 for chet has the gophers. Lol

This recruitment will be interesting. I also wonder if he has interest in going pro. I get people think he isn't big enough, but with his frame being different, he may want to try and make as much money as he can early. Will be interesting to watch.

Marcus chimes in:

Q: Does the new transfer [Robbins] mean we know we are not getting Chet Holmgren in 2021? Does it affect his recruitment in some way? – Mike Baune (@Mbaune09)

A: Have not heard that at all. If anything, adding talent in the frontcourt makes the Gophers more appealing for the future. Holmgren told me he was glad to see Oturu do so well this year and have a chance to be drafted. Don’t be surprised to see Holmgren strongly consider his father’s alma mater here in the end. But don’t rule out the new preps to the NBA G League route being a possibility for the five-star junior from Minnehaha Academy, either. Holmgren is the No. 2 ranked player in the 2021 class.

I can see Chet going the G league route. Instant money, pro hoops, more focus on strength and getting ready for the NBA. This assuming the guys who are doing it now have success from it
