    Limegrover needs to go

Short yardage? Call a slow developing run. 3rd and 13? Call a 5 yard pass. 3rd and 7? Call a play with no additional protection, watch the D blitz and sack the QB. The guy has no clue and is cannot make even reasonable calls at this level.

    Limegrover is not good

Terrible play calls, ultra conservative in every game, won't throw the ball, etc. How do you call a slow-developing run play on 3rd and 1 when the D is going to send everyone? I always hate it when coaches do that.

Reusse says Kill is a high school coach

Not sure he is quite that bad but his schemes look extremely overmatched IMO. Horton got significantly more out of basically the same group and that isn't a good sign IMO. I hate the offensive scheme the most, its basically just going back to the crap spread offense yet again. I hate running...

    Ben Perry

Thought this blurb was interesting http://www.startribune.com/sports/gophers/128671978.html 12:17 Comment From @marathonroy How has Ben Perry looked in camp? He was the only real surprise to me in Kill's 2 deeps. 12:17 Phil Miller: Huge surprise, and apparently a huge talent. He was getting...

    Kill reminds me of Mason

Maybe he is a better coach, maybe not - that remains to be seen, but he will have to be to win IMO. I hate to be the naysayer but beating out Western Michigan, Temple, etc for mediocre prospects does nothing for me. Why is it that the Gophers have to be all or nothing with coaches? Either its...

    Kill's recruiting classes

Rankings per scout, haven't checked Rivals yet. Ugh, just awful. 2006 - 104th 2007 - 114th 2008 - 118th 2009 - 105th 2010 - 103rd Welcome, Glen Mason. Lots of 1/2 star types to be starting soon. I look forward to 215 pound DE that can't stop the run or rush the passer and CBs that run a...

    Maturi met with Chryst

It seems that some here would be disappointed, probably only because they talked about getting a big name with previous experience, but I think he would be an excellent hire and nothing like Brewster. He would get the best players for his system and run that system extremely well...

    Game replay?

I was on the road traveling home from Thanksgiving and missed the game (listened to most of it on the radio, though). I see that the Big Ten Network has it scheduled for 10:30 pm on Sunday. Is there another replay or somewhere else I can get it? Thanks.

    Phil Loadholt on Sumlin

Not that it really matters but at least one of his former players thinks highly of him. http://www.startribune.com/sports/vikings/106831543.html?page=3&c=y • If Gophers athletic director Joel Maturi wants a recommendation on Kevin Sumlin, the current University of Houston football coach, for...

    Denny Green - mostly joking

The 'according to sources' thread got me thinking. The guy is out of work and has a college background, did pretty well with the Vikes. Also has ties to Minnesota and Dungy. With Stanford he went 3-8, 5-6, 8-4. Oh no.......................................... Seriously, could it happen? I...

Penalty on Northwestern near the goal-line

I'm still scratching my head as to why Brew accepted the delay of game penalty that gave their FG kicker an easier angle from the left hash. From inside the 5 the angle isn't that easy, especially for a guy that missed an extra point earlier. Just another reason why Brew isn't a very good...

    Dumbest coaches ever

They just don't get it. Why the hell are you running it multiple times on the final drive with a lot of yardage to go for a score? The one run alone took about half the remaining game. Its amazing that a 'professional' could do such a moronic job.

Completely convinced that Brewster must go

The team was reasonably competitive today but there were some issues that make me think that Brewster has no chance. I hate that they ran the same damn play 20+ times today, and I hate that there has to be some ideology of "pound the rock" where mixing some passes, a reverse to Stoudermire, etc...

Who are the better head coach candidates?

Who are the better head coach candidates around college football? Bringing in an NFL guy was obviously a mistake.

Is Maturi lying about being able to pay Tubby?

CNBC has Minnesota as the 5th most profitable tournament team, yet Maturi makes it sound like they are poor as hell. With profits of nearly $8M, I think he can afford to pay Tubby. http://www.twincities.com/sports/ci_14702897?nclick_check=1 Smith, who left Kentucky for Minnesota in 2007, is...

Gophers' Salamon, Notre Dame's Floyd cited for drinking

Not a real big deal, at least not for Shady IMO. I don't know anyone that didn't drink underage in college. If he was driving it would be different. Floyd was apparently involved in a fight, though, and had blood on his hands...

    Not letting them score

To me, this pretty much sums up the ability of the coaching staff. With 2 minutes left and 1 timeout they should have just let ISU score. The game was effectively over, yet they had no idea what the best approach to tie the game was. A TD and 2 point conversion ties it. Unlikey - yes...

Can we steal some TT recruits?

Other teams do it, why can't we raid a few TT recruits? Brewster has done a pretty good job of recruiting Texas........... http://texastech.scout.com/a.z?s=188&p=9&c=8&yr=2010 Lawrence Rumph is listed as a 4* JUCO DE recruit with very good size. Lots of offers from good schools. We need the...

Sid: Maturi working on a Brewster extension

http://www.startribune.com/sports/vikings/79184462.html?page=3&c=y Brewster extension? Gophers athletic director Joel Maturi made it clear on Sunday that he is considering some type of extension for Gophers football coach Tim Brewster, who has two more years left on his contract. Maturi...

Brian Kelly's comments on being on the hotseat

I was watching ESPN this morning and they showed a clip of him discussing the Notre Dame situation and what it means to be on the hot seat. He said that he didn't want to be one of those guys because that REALLY hurts recruiting. We've already seen Brewster's uncertainty hurt the recruiting...
