Thanks, although most people just assume it's a mental illness. If you heard what I had to go through to escape Hurricane Isaac and make the UNLV game, you'd probably agree.

Looks like I should stop going to away conference games entirely!

I've been attending away games at WI dating back to the 80's (I'll assume it was about even during those years). I have been alternating between the Iowa & WI away games for over a decade now but I'm too lazy to figure out my win/loss % despite others already having posted (I know we're on the short end since 2000). Went to Mich. when Wacker was coach and we got destroyed. Also went to Penn St. in '97 which was a loss but a very close game. NW three years ago (a win). Went to UNLV this year which was my first ever non-conference away game (win). Since I'm too lazy to add things up, I'm going with Highwayman's logic and note that in the last three away games I'm sporting a 2-1 record.

Go Gophers!

2012: Headed to Lincoln for sure, and possibly Wiscy.

Hockey away from Mariucci: 15-11-1

Total all Gopher games for all sports: 132-71-7

Wisconsin - 2 losses
Northwestern - 1 win
Iowa - 1 loss
Toledo - 1 loss....I was in Ohio for a softball tournament and went out a few days early to catch the game. Huge mistake. Blow-out loss. Stared directly into the sun for the entire first half. Car broken into at dumpy Holiday Inn. Haven't been near Toledo since.

You guys make me feel like a horrible Gopher Fan. But I'm young.

I noticed that a few of you went to the Cal game in 2006. Since I'm stuck out here in Cali, a bunch of my college football-loving friends and i decided to get tix to a Cal game this year - since none of us will be able to see our teams play. The game is Oct 6 vs UCLA (Homecoming). Just wanted to know what you guys saw and experienced as far as transportation, tailgating, festivities, bars, etc. and what you would suggest are the must-see things as far as that goes. Or if you simply know a really good place to find that sort of info. Since this is a tiny bit off-topic, feel free to PM me.

Grew up in Lincoln and never made it to a game at Memorial Stadium. Pumped to be able to watch the Gophers in my hometown!

Didn't do the traditional stuff because family and girlfriends family was/ is out there. I can't remember the name of the place, but I think there is some hall that fans meet at.

Mostly hung out in Greater L.A. , Los Altos and San Francisco. As you already know, too many things to mention in San Fran.

It's not a crazy game day scene, and they were a lot better in 2006. They just finished remodeling their stadium, which was an absolute dump when we played there. I'm sure it's great now.

We went to Henry's in the Hotel Durant fairly close to the stadium. There was a nice Gopher crowd and we had a fun time. The bartender had no idea how to make a SoCo Lime shot (hint: SoCo and Lime.) I was staying in San Francisco so just took the BART in and left right after the game.

I don't believe there's much of a tailgate scene, parking in Berkeley makes Minneapolis look like Ames, IA.

To the guy that asked about Cal -- by far my favorite away game. We did a long weekend in San Fran -- just an overall awesome trip. If you're looking for a place before the game, they serve beer in their student union. That was fun but pretty busy. We hunkered down at a random bar just off campus -- no idea what it was called, but there's a few to choose from a block or two from campus.

We took the BART too. While the stadium was a dump, I thought the layout was cool -- up the hill and all. While there wasn't any tailgating, I thought the bar scene was fun. Kind of expensive though, so prepare for that. Our group racked up a $400 tab.
