Who is your Gophers MVP in the dramatic 21-14 win over Fresno State?
Really don't know. Fun game! A win is a win.
Not an easy decision but I've got to go with Carpenter. Those two kicks really helped out when the offense couldn't get in the end zone. Certainly have to give tons of credit to other players, but Carpenter really came through tonight.
Winfield is the easy answer due to the amazing interception at the end but I went with Carpenter for drilling 2 key 50+ yard field goals. That said, it wouldn't be hard to make a case for a bunch of guys on that list to be named MVP of that game. Just a great all around team effort considering the adversity they had to deal with on offense after losing one of the best players in the conference early in the game.
If pressed the obvious choice is Winfield. I voted for Smith, but to be honest if was more of an "oh my god, we have another playermaker on the team" vote. I'm excited about this guy!
My hope for this year was to have some PJ guys that I was as excited about as the leftover Kill/Claeys guys. Smith, Bateman, ZA all seem to be on that trajectory, Was Blaise a 100% PJ guy? or was he coming here before the hire was made.
