How will your life change?

If it somehow leads to us playing Michigan every year again, my life will be better.

As someone who has a notch in my bedpost for each Big 10 school football wise, it presents an interesting challenge. I would of course feel the need to attend a road at each of new invitees.

Travelwise, from the Twin Cities, Nebraska would be be no different than a trip to Iowa City. Distance just slightly further. Adequate accomodations available in either Lincoln or Omaha. Obviously driveable.

Missouri, driveable also but a little more time in the car. I'm guessing hotel accomodations not nearly as plentiful as an Omaha / Lincoln combo. I guess this will be West Lafayette v2.0 sans the ugly co-eds.

Notre Dame, easy drive except going through Chicago. Hotel accomodations would be extemely $$$ on a football weekend but may make a most excellent road trip regardless where one stays. Plenty of hotels along the interstate back to Chitown. I've always wanted to stay a Majestic Star Casino Hotel in Gary

Rutgers - Piscataway, NJ. Now, I've been on Rutgers campus twice, albeit the New Brunswick campus but this roadie will not be for the uninitiated. The quote "Toto, we're not in Kansas anymore" has never been more appropos. I'd be stereotyping if I were to guess how a group of Gopher fans would stick out at a Piscataway bar but I don't think I'd be too far off. Plus flying into Newark is a complete clusterfu(k. I think I'd pull out a marker, fly into Philly, and have Studwell55 chauffeur me around. Rutgers does not really excite me. But Who Hates Rutgers ?does have a certain ring to it.

Would it change my life? I guess it would in that I'd have to somehow convince Mrs. Norman Dale that trip to Columbia, MO would provide me more personal fullfilment. I'd be stoked with any combination that adds Nebraska and Notre Dame. As much as I despise Notre Dame and cheer against 12 Saturdays a year it really is a special place to watch a game.

Lincoln is a longer haul than you think it is. About 460 miles, but most of it is through Iowa, so you shouldn't have to slow down. There is no good way to get to Columbia from the Twin Cities. Kansas City is probably the better of the two options (the other is the Avenue of the Saints to West Quincy, MO and then cross-country).

Hotels in Columbia are harder to come by, not to mention old. For that matter, that whole town is very old. Also, the Greek system is HUGE at Mizzou, and they claim that they invented homecoming. Farout Field is a dump. For some reason, Mizzou has a ton of students from Minnesota.

(My recap of my trip last fall to Columbia. Warning: It's long and boring as hell.)

Twelve teams with Notre Dame, Minnesota, Iowa, Wisconsin, Illinois, and Northwestern in the west and my life will drastically improve.

Fourteen teams with Minnesota, Iowa, Wisconsin, Illinois, and Northwestern joined by Missouri & Nebraska and I'll pull the trigger.

Twelve adding Pitt or Rutgers and it's a ham sandwich.

I have access to Nebraska tickets and a place to stay for free up there so I am giddy about the possibility of them joining the Big Ten.

Mizzou is a short drive from Kansas City so it would be easy to get away and see a Gopher game there as well.

I kind of feel sorry for the Big 12. These teams appear to be jumping at the chance to leave the conference.

It will be easy to talk my wife into a road trip to Rutgers. She loves New York.:clap:

Why don't they just put everyone in one conference and have a season that runs 11 months. Kind of like NASCAR or the PGA Tour.

Rutgers does NOTHING for me. And would 'The Situation' be coming to TCF Bank?
Nebraska and Notre Dame, of course they would be great additions.
Missouri is ho hum in my book. I think Missouri coming to town would excite the Twin Cities less than Purdue coming to town.

If Notre Dame joins the Big Ten, I'll just die.

I might be in the minority, but I think expanding beyond 12 is just a stupid, stupid idea. I already hate that the Gophers don't play everyone in their conference every year.

My opinion: I would like the U to consider a multi year plan that has the University Of Minnesota as a private entity.
