Buckeyes Wire first out of the gate:

5. Minnesota

I’ll be honest, I have no idea how the West division is going to shake out, but we’re giving Minnesota a little more credit for going through a tough stretch when injuries crept up and for bouncing back with a win on the road. Most likely though, it’ll all change next week.

Spartans Wire chimes in:

7. Minnesota

Record: 6-3 (3-3 in Big Ten)

This week’s result: Win at Nebraska

Next game: vs. Northwestern (Nov. 12)

Minnesota picked up a solid win on Saturday after falling behind early against Nebraska. The Golden Gophers are officially bowl eligible but even more important is they still have an outside chance to win the wide open Big Ten West Division.

7) Minnesota (6-3, 3-3 B1G) — Last week: 8

Minnesota showed some grit in a come-from-behind 20-13 win at Nebraska on Saturday. The Cornhuskers looked like they might run away from the Gophers, but Mohamed Ibrahim ran for 128 yards and two touchdowns to help Minnesota scored 20 straight points in the second half. Athan Kaliakmanis also showed some poise and play-making, throwing for 137 yards and running for 27 yards, after starter Tanner Morgan left with an injury at halftime. The Gophers' defense also largely shut down Nebraska’s passing attack, led by two backup quarterbacks, to help Minnesota earn bowl eligibility for the fourth time in six seasons under P.J. Fleck.

Next: vs. Northwestern, 2:30 p.m. Saturday (BTN)

Nittany Lions Wire chimes in:

5. Minnesota

Last game: Won at Nebraska, 20-13

Last week: 7

The Gophers turned in another solid victory with a better second half to the game after a sluggish start at Nebraska. Minnesota got a solid effort off the bench at quarterback and let Mohamed Ibrahim do his thing on the ground.

Next game: vs. Northwestern

Go Gophers!!

Wolverines Wire chimes in:

4. Minnesota

Minnesota didn’t do anything particularly special in the win over Nebraska. Tanner Morgan was OK, but was injured late in the first half. Athan Kaliakmanis performed admirably in his stead, bringing the Gophers back after facing a 10-0 deficit.

Mo Ibrahim managed over 100 yards, and it was just enough to earn bowl eligibility for the season.

Northwestern is next on the schedule.

Go Gophers!!
