I would say not cancelled, but TV audience only, if that.

Way too much money wrapped up in it, to completely cancel. It's not ebola that's spreading like measles.

This isn't news. Its been a pandemic for a while now. It was only a matter of time before it was declared as such.

The NCAA Tourney might be played in empty arenas but I don't see it being cancelled.

We need to get some hollywood special-effects outfit to create a virtual crowd. set up green screens around the court, and matte in the virtual crowd - like they put those advertisements behind home plate on baseball games. They can call the Vikings for advice on how to pipe in music and crowd noise during games.

While you're exactly right, them actually coming out and saying that it is one, will move the panic needle for people some amount more than zero. It just will.

Wouldn't be surprised if the NIT is cancelled. The schools are not going to want to lose $$ on it. The NCAA tournament makes enough TV $ it doesn't matter.
