I really don't know much about Hoke, but I just can't see how he is a better fit than Jerry Kill.
Kill is younger (with a lot more HC experience).
Kill has more sustained success, while Hoke has had one good season and one mediocore season.
My take on the entire coaching situation is really that there are some homerun type hires (Harbaugh, Patterson, Bellotti) and if they aren't interested I think there are a slew of good candidates (Sumlin, Golden, Kill, Calhoun and even Hoke). Assuming the homeruns were contacted and they turned it down, I would be perfectly fine with any of the candidates. However, I think Hoke would be my least favorite of those guys. The only way I am super annoyed if it is Trestman, Bowden, Bevell, or Chryst.
I wish I could say that the people hiring know better than all of us, but I would honestly rather have gopherhole create a committee (you can even leave me off the committee), that is in charge of hiring the next coach than Maturi and Prexy B.
