and several other coaches at St Olaf tonight. After a slow first half, Joey King had a very nice second half, but it wasn't enough to finish the comeback against Lakeville South tonight. I left at half time of the second game, but it looked like Apple Valley was well on it's way to beating Rosemount. During the second half of the first game, there was a lot of energy in the building. All the coaches were there for the first game so I'm sure Joey King was getting looked at along with Tyus. Lakeville South has a player named Alex Richter who is an undecided senior and is probably being looked at by some Division I and II schools as well.

Not only this but Brad Stevens was at the Hopkins game to scout Chambers. Pretty sure i heard there were quite a few DII coaches scouting Richter.

Joey King might be getting some looks from the gopher staff. Idk a whole lot about his game or what position he plays. But he had a huge game in front of Tubby and crew earlier this year.

I've seen King play a handful of times, and in the second half last night, that was the best I've seen him. He had several times where he went around guys while facing the basket using both hands and was fouled at the basket. He had nice moves with his back to the basket. He got a 3 point shot off a dribble step back move. He hit an NBA three pointer coming of a double screen curl at the end of the game. I don't know if he can play in the Big Ten, but he will play Division I someplace.

I think the Gophers..........

need to look hard at Joey King.

He is hard working player who can play inside or out. He could be a 3 man at the next level with his shooting and handling skills, and he is not afraid to go inside and mix it up. I think he could easily contribute as much as Brusier at Wisky. He would fill a role we don't have filled right now....unless Rodney blossoms as a shooter, Oto is as good as advertised, or Joe Coleman grows a bit.

He is not as rugged as Mike B. but shoots it better. I did not see extraordinary athleticism, but did see a very good basketball player.

Were you there last night? It was a pretty good turnout for the game, but not as many people stayed for the second game. King is only a junior, so it will be interesting to see how good he turns out. I thought I saw the Hopkins coach at the game last night as well. Next Friday I have to make the choice as to whether to see the South/Apple Valley game or the Chaska/EP game. They should both be fun games.

Yes. Coach Novak from Hopkins and Coach Kllingsporn from Tartan were scouting possible opponents in the state tournament. I'll probably be at the Lakeville South-Apple Valley game, but Chaska-EP should be a good one.
