Vikings coach Brad Childress had his entire staff on hand for pro day at the University of Minnesota on Wednesday.

While the field conditions weren't ideal, Minnesota coach Tim Brewster put together a first-rate event. The prospects ran indoors on old AstroTurf.

In total, 31 NFL teams were represented and had an opportunity to see eight noteworthy prospects perform, including CB Marcus Sherels' impressive display.

Here are Minnesota's top players:

CB Marcus Sherels (5-9 1/8, 175) ran a 4.37 and 4.39 in the 40, had a 40-inch vertical jump, a 10-1 broad jump, a 4.07 short shuttle, a 6.97 three-cone drill and 12 bench press reps. His workout was fantastic.

LB Lee Campbell (6-2 3/8, 248) ran a 4.85 and 4.84 in the 40, had a 9-7 broad jump, a 4.37 short shuttle, a 7.12 three-cone drill and stood on what he did at the combine in the vertical jump. He ran position drills, but did not do the bench press.

LB Simoni Lawrence (6-0 3/8, 229) ran a 4.57 and 4.55 in the 40, had a 10-7 broad jump, a 4.35 short shuttle and a 6.88 three-cone drill. He stood on his vertical jump time from the combine, and did position drills.

LB Nathan Triplett ran a 4.65 and 4.68 in the 40, a 4.43 short shuttle, a 7.07 three-cone drill and stood on his vertical and broad jump numbers from the combine.

CB Traye Simmons (5-8 7/8, 180) ran a 4.61 and 4.58 in the 40, had a 33 1/2-inch vertical jump, a 10-4 broad jump, a 4.27 short shuttle, a 7.57 three-cone drill and eight bench press reps.

DT Matt Stommes (6-6 1/2, 311) ran a 5.42 and 5.41 in the 40, had a 26 1/2-inch vertical jump, a 8-5 broad jump, a 4.77 short shuttle, a 7.64 three-cone drill and 27 bench press reps. He also had 35-inch arms.

NOTE: Minnesota receiver Eric Decker was present, but is still recovering from foot surgery.

Two exceptional small-school standouts had a chance to perform.

Northern Iowa DE James Ruffin (6-foot-3 1/2, 264 pounds) ran the 40-yard dash in 4.78 and 4.73 seconds, had a 31-inch vertical jump, a 9-foot-5 broad jump, a 4.56-second short shuttle, a 7.20-second three-cone drill and did 27 repetitions in the bench press at 225 pounds.

Concordia WR Jordan Schultenover (6-2 1/2, 212) ran a 4.53 and 4.57 in the 40, had a 42 1/2-inch vertical, a 10-10 broad jump, a 4.29 short shuttle, a 6.82 three-cone drill and did 10 reps in the bench press.

The rest of the team also did some modified ProDay testing at the same time. I only heard how the o-line and d-line did, but some of the impressive results were registered by D.J. Burris (who did the most bench-press reps), Ra'Shede Hageman (who had the highest vertical - 36") and D.L. Wilhite (who had the longest broad jump at almost 10').

CB Traye Simmons (5-8 7/8, 180)

WTF???? Did anyone else find this stat surprising? He shrunk a whole 2 1/8" from last season (roster).:D
