As you may recall, we had 97 entries in our Predict the Season competition. (Entrants had to pick whether the Gophers or their opponents would win the 12 games scheduled in the regular season.)
After the second game, we have 91 who picked the Gophers to win the first two games and are thus in first place. The next game begins to mean something. If you picked the first two games correctly and then pick the third game’s winner, you’ll get an additional four points (1 point for the correct prediction and three points for getting three straight games in a row). Predict the wrong team and you’ll stay at 4 points.
In 92nd place currently are five G’holers with only one correct prediction and just one point: CaliGopher, dpodoll68, GoldenTimeOfDay, MBA Guy, and Sec 105. Of this group, only Section 05 has a chance to gain a bonus next game .as (s)he picked the Gophers to beat Air Force. The others picked Air Force to win so need to re-establish their streak.
Finally, UptownMaroon&Gold holds a streak of a different measure: zero-for-two. Having zero points translates into being a relatively poor prognosticator (I leave it to you to figure out what kind of Gopher fan they are) and getting stuck in last (97th) place.
