Peter Mortell is the best Gopher punter since?...

I can't recall a time we had such a strength at punter like we do now. All offensive struggle comments aside, he is a flat out huge weapon, that I rarely think twice about shanking one. He can pin teams behind the 15 with ease and he gets height and depth allowing our coverage teams to mitigate a big return.

Not to mention, he appears like a team leader which is not always the case with a special teams player.

We've had some solid punters in the past, but I can't recall one that has been as good as long as he has in his career.

No argument from me, but I think he was in the same category. Very consistent and he led the NCAA with a 45 yard average as a soph.
