Seems like the word was that U2 was coming to Minneapolis next summer. Confirmation arrives that Bono and company will not be playing here next summer.

Too bad...it would have made for a great first concert at TCF. Good pub for the facility and a positive experience would have gone a long way to helping the U book more big name shows. Here's hoping they still line up some good concerts in the near future.

While I don't really care, I wouldn't give up yet. Shows can always be added and there are two or three slots in this schedule that could take on more sites.

I'd bet that Phoenix is a possibility between Anaheim and Denver, and the Twin Cities would fit nicely between Edmonton and East Lansing.

My guess is additional dates could be added depending on ticket sales for the announced shows. if Chicago, East Lansing and Edmonton sell out quickly, they'll add another show in the neighborhood.

oh well. for me personally it is no big loss. there are plenty of other worthy, big-name acts out there that tcf stadium will land.

when i hear U2 i can't help but think: "hey! is it still 1988?! did "joshua tree" just come out?"

i have tried to get into their stuff a few different times and frankly they don't really do much for me.
