Few members of the media know a team better than a beat writer – as the hard working journalist attends most practices, talks with coaches and players daily and never misses a game. For the Gophers, the most in-depth and highest profile outlet is the Star Tribune, where Kent Youngblood’s coverage of the Gopher football team is unmatched.

GopherHole caught up with Youngblood who took time out of his schedule which is crazy this time of year as he is covering the day to day activities of the Gopher football team, as well as putting together a special pre-season TCF Bank Stadium package due out in a few weeks.

I think just filling their allotment means Wisconsin will have more than 2% of fans there!
