I kind stand ESPN, every time a Minnesota team plays any eastern team in any sport it's clearly homer time.

Gophers need to quit letting Union have a firing squad in their end.

Another Sh!!!t call by the refs. Unreal!!!
 

I love how hard it is for the announcers to say Minnesota and Gophers. Instead it's "Mini" and "Gophs".
 

Brady has taken a couple of bad penalties tonight. Can't do that against a squad that is already buzzing as much as Union has in the offensive zone.

Stupid penalties!
 

Another thing. Gotta give credit where its due. The Union players just shoot...shoot...shoot. Look at that last PP by the Gophers. They skate around and wait for that perfect pass and play and don't get many shots off. They need to unload the puck as much as possible to create more chances like Union does.

Totally agree. Union throws the puck at the net even from the neutral zone but we dump the puck in the corner and skate. They're more aggressive.
 



Stevens is standing on his head. Gophers should have scored.

Now another PP for Union........geez
 



Union has 2-3 guys loitering in front of the net. Put somebody on their ass!
 

Wilkins.......that's now our goaltenders name. These guys are pathetic.

For all the bitching about the Gophers on D in this game, gotta love how Union plays. They get the puck to the net and then fight like heck until the play is frozen. They really play with everything they have and it's hard not to like their style of play.
 



The Gophers slap shots are always off the mark and they hold on to the puck WAY too long. Come on get the puck in the net!!!!!!!
 

Our PP is non existent. That's the end of 2 and the Gophers need to dominate this last period.

No doubt this Union team is good. Why has it taken until the very end of the year to hear about them?
 

We played really hard in the second period, wish we would have played like that in the first.

It hasn't. They've been in the polls all year and were ranked #1 at one point.

That was a much better period...would be tied except for the stand-on-his-head save by Stevens on Reilly. Should be an interesting third period now that the game has settled down a bit.
 

Hoping Wilcox plays goalie in the third instead of Wilkens.
 

Our PP % is what? Around high 20's maybe low 30's?......getting our butts kicked by the more aggressive team......as many have already pointed out.
 

Okay come out with energy, Minnie Gophs!!!
 



Why do the Gophers hold the puck on the PP kill? Get it down the ice!!

They are ranked #1 right now on USCHO's website. They just got that ranking at the very end of the year when we lost to Ohio State in the Big 10 playoffs.

Union scores............this game has turned sour big time. Well it was expected. They have been getting outplayed most of the night.
 

And that will probably do it. Union up 5-3 with 10 mins left. At least the program is back on track and consistently deep in the postseason, but we have to start getting over the hump one of these years and finish business. 11 years has been too long for such a great program.

Yeah, Union seems like they're in a zone. Not totally unexpected, but still blows.
 


Well at least we didn't build a one year team loaded with Canucks. It seems like you see that quite often. The kids from Canada play a few years up there and mature then they go play some college down here. I looked at NDakota's roster the other night and they had 13 Canadians and these guys have 9. The Gophers have all but 4 kids from the state and the others are US players.

Another PP for Union. This game is in the tank.
