We're still in it for Winfield?

We are still on Winfield's short list and I hear that Minnesota has a great chance to land him. I love the fact that so many guys will be visiting next week that have already committed. Watch Coughlin and company do their magic with these recruits. Go Gophers!

I could be wrong but I thought that Winfield went to EP before he moved, or was in that school district. Someone else probably knows forsure but if that's the case, hopefully him and Coughlin might have known one another growing up. Could only help I am guessing.

QB options in this class with some buzz on Twitter.

Seth Green and Keon Howard (Committed to Memphis).

I'll even throw in Tyler Johnson from North who is already committed. I don't see it happening, but his coach thinks that's his best position.
Looks like Howard is now scheduled to visit in January.

Good to see we will get a visit from Lucas hopefully all goes well and we can land him as he would be a huge addition at position of need.

The coaches have been busy. Looks like he comes from the same high school as Zo Craighton.

Also same high school as DB target Coney Durr.

Interesting that Sawvel is doing the visit.

Sawvel recruits the Gulf Coast region. He's the one most commendable for all of the Alabama and Louisiana players on the roster.

Would soften the blow of losing Webber, plus would be a 4 year player rather than just 2.

Interesting that Sawvel is doing the visit.

I think Sawvel is essentially 2nd behind Claeys in pecking order right now. So if Clayes can't make it, he'd probably prefer Sawvel instead of an offensive skill position coach that will be working under an OC that hasn't been hired yet. Remember we don't have an OC or an OL coach at the moment.

I thought Kill credited Anderson's ties to Alabama for recruiting that area, although I'm not sure if he was responsible for targeting them once they were identified.

Anderson recruits Georgia, Virginia, and occasionally dips down into northern Florida. There's occasional overlap and teamwork efforts in a lot of cases, but Sawvel is the lead on almost every recruit between Louisiana and Alabama. Poore is the lead on Texas, Anderson on the areas I mentioned above. People think that position coaches recruit their positions, and that does happen on some occasions (particularly in-state recruits) but the prevailing standard is on a geographic basis, which makes sense from a travel cost and relationship-building standpoint.

Yep, for some reason I was thinking Brooks/Smith were from Alabama.

Just wondering about people's preferences, would you rather have Seth green or Keon Howard?
