A lot of kids can not afford to make out of state unofficial visits. I am not saying at all that we will get him, but I don't think anything so far indicates it is all over.

Maybe something came up with his mom's work schedule again. I wish him the best of luck and for him to have a golden future as a Gopher.

He can take an official in a few weeks and not have to make a long drive. It's smart on his part.

Not so sure. For whatever reason 247 just posted 2 predictions for Kelly to Minnesota.

Might just be those people thought he was starting his visit. He was supposed to be leaving last night, arriving today IIRC. Very common for crystal ball to change as player is beginning his next visit. No indication who knew, and when, that he wasn't actually coming.

My biggest takeaway from all this is that the rule on visits needs to change. With all these commitments happening in the summer, and players having way more time to visit in the summer, it's absurd that we can't bring a player in for an official.

That seemed to be what Burnsie was talking about on the GI Radio program last week. I'm hoping he doesn't flip, but 17/18 year olds often do.

I think Kelly is still hoping for a rb offer, and if he doesn't get it he'll commit to MSU.

Kill & Co will take care of business...I have faith.

I'm kind of bored with Charlie Rodgers. He drew it out last time then chose Iowa St. Now he's drawing it out again, even his Mother said he should have chosen the Gophers the first time. He just doesn't seem to love the U. I still hope he commits because we really need a Juco safety to balance the class after Khari Blasingame bailed on us.

Go Gophers!!

Does anyone have any idea which way he is leaning?

We’ve got him in the bag. We had the last unofficial and we are the only official that he has scheduled. Also all 11 247 CB predictions have him coming here.

Brown would be a very good get, correct?

He has a very nice offer list, not really rated that high and his film doesn’t like quite as explosive as Gentry or Holland. He would definitely be a notch below those two. I think Jerry Gibson or Wolitarsky would be a good comparison.

After reading a 10 page thread on him on Cylcone fanatic it seems that he held out for an Iowa offer and never got one. That was where he wanted to be. They knew he had talent but never offered for some reason. Was also second team academic All Big 12 which reacquires at least a 3.0 GPA. Anyways IMO just because a recruit doesn’t absolutely love it here and view this place as the #1 program in the country doesn’t mean they won’t end up here. He is visiting for the weekend and we are the only official he has scheduled so i’d be surprised if we don’t him.

Does anyone know for sure why he transferred to IWCC? Is there a compelling reason the Gophers should worry about?

I'm very intrigued by Brown. He is very physical for a WR. I wonder if the staff will experiment with him at different positions while they see how he responds to a collegiate training/nutritional program . WR, TE, or H Back...ala Jerry Gibson.

I see Brown and Gibson as H-backs that create mismatches in the scondary. A very solid get and establishes the Georgia connection further. hope Brown' teammate Anree saint-Amour follows suit.

I don't think that's much of a possibility.

The backround on James Johannesson's twitter account @TherealJJ4 is a picture of him wearing a Gophers jersey. It is from his U of M visit on August 9th. Has not commited yet but still a good sign.

In order for that to occur he needs to make a visit. Then "Kill & Co will take care of business".

Not really...you are assuming I was speaking about a single recruit. I was speaking in general terms as I do not hang my hopes on any 17 year old. I do beleive Kill & Co will get the job done, regardless of which kids they end up getting.
