Oh yeah, that is the Minnesota-Duluth coach. Glad they are not on our schedule this year.
I vote for spite.

Don't give him the job at Minnesota

Success at that level doesn't always translate into 1A success (though sometimes it does). Wacker had undefeated teams and national championships in II and III but had losing records at both of his schools in 1A. I remember a coach who had a fantastic record in III (84% winner) over a long period of time, who finally got a shot at Maryland and failed badly. Even some very good 1AA coaches have failed in the Big Ten after great runs in the Ivy League. Trestle is an exception, but Youngstown State is a giant in 1AA year after year. Just shows it's hard to handicap coaches, which is why a proven 1A winner ($2 mil a year) would be my best hope for the Gophers after this season - if such a move is possible.

Well, why not?

That's great. If there's a firing, he should definitely be considered for the job.

I mean, how can he not be ready for the big leap? I'm sure he's ready to take a shot at the NDSU job if Craig Bohl gets the boot.
