Matt Birk: If college athletes enter the transfer portal they shouldn't be eligible for NIL money.

I
make players employees of the school. compensation to be collectively bargained. have a pay scale with opportunity to earn bonuses based on performance. and......if school B is trying to hire a player away from school A, then School B must disclose its offer and School A has a right to match the offer or decline.

put it all out in the open.

Exactly.

The shadows benefit no one, except the the unscrupulous and I’m guessing many young men & women have/been will end up being exploited.

Also, no one, unless he’s their parent is qualified to say someone is a Great dad.

Well, Matt...so much for a free-market, huh?
CBA’s are blatantly socialist … which is how all the best pro leagues in country are run.

Which is a very odd catch-22 indeed, but it’s by far the superior model for pro leagues.

Doesn't this just incentivize schools to cheat by offering players far above the collective bargaining agreement, as under-the-table payments?

Just another grifter looking for his next grift

Do you know what the terms statesman, scholar and economist mean?
And "open-minded progressive"? How is the weather there in Opposite World?

Why doesn’t that happen in the NFL then?
I believe the 49ers got in trouble for doing that a long time ago. It was rumored the Cowboys may have done it too during their dynasty.

I'm guessing in the NFL it would involve significantly more money so would be harder to hide.

There would also be real consequences in the NFL.

There’s a few that like to “sneak” it in here; guessing they think that’s counts for volunteering 🤷‍♂️
Thats rather unfortunate. Les should just go hang out on that banger site Truth Social. Seems to be the stock you want right now. Its gonna be UGEEEEE!!!!!! Anyways, Birks idea is a nice thought but as stated above, the courts would have a field day with it. Pandoras box has been blown wide open.

To me the only solution would be contracts through the school with some sort of pay scale. It cannot sustain with this model, because even life long die hards like me are reaching the breaking point. And my 1a is Ohio State.

I don't know. Rumor is LL Cool J says Kool Moe D was is a good daddy...:ROFLMAO:

How long till fall practices?

If a fan comes up to an NFL player and says “hey man, awesome game!! Here .. have an envelope full of cash, because I love how you play for our team!!”

is that actually against the NFL rules and or terms of their CBA?

If not …. then there may never really be any true/legal means for removing fans paying players. Even in a new world of employment and CBA’s.

It may be a thing of, no where in the entire world, in any league of major (attendance/viewership/money) sports is that a normal thing that fans do …… accept in American college.

There are consequences for tampering. And the owners want to keep salaries down, because they're a business.
All the more reason to have fans pay for everything!

American college sports are ahead of the curve!
