Lindsay Whalen and Diamond Miller Drop Puck at First PWHL Women's Hockey Home Game

Lindsay Whalen and Diamond Miller were honorary guests to drop the puck for the first ever PWHL Minnesota women's hockey home game at Xcel Energy Center.

Whalen actually dropped the puck. With a big round of applause.

Over 10,000 are in attendance. Minnesota plays Montreal. At the end of the 2nd period Minnesota leads 1-0 after a goal by former Gopher Grace Zumwinkle.

Another step forward for Minnesota women and girls in sports.

That's a world record. Highest attendance for a women's hockey game.


Former Gophers great Grace Zumwinkle from Minnesota scored a hat trick, 3 goals. Minnesota beat Montreal 3-0.
