What a useless front story in the sport section. This is typical Monday morning qb that shouldn't be written by the beat writer for the team. Joseph got a great look! The shot he made came after the whistle blew, no pressure, no defense! This is a great way for our beat writer that has no better access to Tubby than you our I, to further drive a rift - with a pointless article. Questioning the time out is great to debate on a board or blog, but the front story of the Trib? No problem putting in the paper as a little side line piece, but a lead? How about using your time digging up a story that is worth reading.......

Any article with just as many twitter fan post quotes as player/coach quotes is automatically fail anyways.

But I agree, questioning the timeout like that doesn't really belong in the paper.

Maybe that's part of why Tubby closed it off the media today?

There isn't a right or wrong answer in that situation. Tubby could care less what the paper writes or doesn't write. If it had worked out the other way around he would be a genious to the media. I think he is more secure than worrying about that.

I don't think the story was all that well executed, but I think it was a legit topic.

There was certainly tons of talk on should-he or shouldn't-he.

Now should he have just ripped tweets and put them in his story? I say no, but that's just me. He could have used those tweets to actually hunt somebody down and talk to them.

The story isn't even factually correct.

--Myron claims that Westbrook's shot last year against Michigan would have been a game-winner. Not so. Would have sent it to OT.

--Myron claims that Tubby called the timeout vs. Michigan State this year with "less than five seconds" left. He called it with :14 seconds left.

But, hey, don't let the facts get in the way of a good drama, though.

Anyone else remember Myron's twitter rant against twitter, message boards, etc. Now he is quoting them!

Yeah, I like how Myron's expert opinions come from random Twitter users. Nice job.

Good call FTB. Here is Myron's tweet from Jan. 09:

GophersBBGuy: One of my pet peeves: people who post comments on blogs, send e-mails and call into radio shows but don't know what they're talking about.

Now he is publishing quotes from these same people just over a year later. You can't even make it up.

Go Gophers!!

Maybe you should focus on the BB team and not Myron

Lots of hate for a beat writer from G fans.

Focus on the team and the coach and leave the rest to Myron.

Maybe you should go back to Dynasty Defenders

Lots of hate there to keep you busy! Oh, and I hear your team is doing well - odd how that isn't enough to keep you busy...

As it was pointed out obviously facts are getting in the way of Myron's story. He doesn't seem like a good caretaker of whatever Gopher's story he's trying to tell.

pmgz you are also commenting on myron in this thread so take your own advice. and does it really matter if we as fans focus on the team or on porn? Not really we don't have much of an impact other than cheering loud. What's next you are going to say we need to take one game at a time as fans?

Wow, I didn't see any inside information from a source close to the program in that story. Myron's convenient way to make it up as he goes along.

In Myron's defense the timeout call was idiotic and cost us the game as it wiped out Devoe's game winning shot. Tubby lost that game and I hope Devoe let him know that during the timeout.

In Myron's defense "the timeout call was idiotic" - yep, worst timeout call I've EVER seen
"and cost us the game" - right again, it was that one timeout not any of plays that cost us
"Tubby lost that game" - Did you see how many turnovers and missed shots he had? No rebounds?
"I hope Devoe let him know that during the timeout" - I too hope all of our players feel comfortable enough with Tubby to rag on him during timeouts. What better way to bring cohesiveness to the team than to have the players rip on the coach.
:rolleyes::rolleyes::banghead::rolleyes::rolleyes:

You mean the shot that wasn't defended because the whistle was blown? What if he had missed that? Would you have blamed Tubby for not calling a timeout? It looked like Devoe was expecting the timeout anyway. He also ended up getting a great look after the timeout. That's actually one of his better shooting spots too.
