Kansas avoids serious penalty for NCAA violation

I'm shocked!!!

"It is always worth remembering Jerry Tarkanian's famous description of NCAA justice. Upon learning that $10,000 had fallen out of an envelope headed to a Kentucky recruit's father, Tark said: 'The NCAA is so mad at Kentucky it is going to put Cleveland State on probation. '"

You can't make it up. They left out the awards banquet the NCAA hosted to present Self with his plaque for cooperation and service above and beyond to the advancement of higher learning.

It's a free for all now, NCAA has no teeth anymore, they may reject some immediate eligibility requests, but other than that there's not much they can control. You really don't need to cheat academically anymore, if someone is ineligible because of grades you just put a contract out on the transfer portal to fill your need and replace that player.

It does seem like the president’s could eliminate the collectives and put at least an arms length distance from pay to play.

Make T-shirts/hoodies that say "Raise the '97" and sell them to pay for whatever the team wants (call it NIL). I'd buy a few.
