Johnny Manziel suspended for 1/2 a game

This is huge. I expect Rice to win this game going away.

After they placed bets on the first half under :)

I've heard that he will sit out the half of the game when A & M is on defense.

This hurts Rice more than anything.

Manziel wasn't going to play but half a game anyway (look at last year, he sat out something like two full games), but now it's going to be a fresh Manziel versus a defense that has played in 102 heat for the first half.

It's a punishment that's absolutely not a punishment. It showcases Kenny Hill or Matt Joeckel to the nation for a full half, and gives us second half momentum.

Poor Rice.

Guys like Dez Bryant should be super pi$$ed off. He had to sit out almost an entire year for lying to the NCAA. Obviously Manziel must be lying or else he wouldn't be getting suspended in the first place.

Trevor Plouffe is more consistent than the NCAA and that is saying something.

Absolute crap. NCAA knows it profits more with him on the field and knows they don't have to suspend him bc of lack of proven evidence therefore they give him next to nothing. What a bunch of hypocrites.

Lmao at the plouffe comment hahah

Not enough it should have been 3/4 of a game.

I agree. But if they really wanted to punish him they should have fined him half his earnings. Hit him where it hurts I say.

Good. I hope this is the end of the pursuit of knocking one of the most entertaining athletes on the planet out of his sport. I can't wait to watch him play this year.

The NCAA did itself a huge disservice in the eyes of everyone with this. Either suspend him for (#) games or leave it be. How can they even expect to be taken seriously with this? How can they take themselves seriously?

I feel like I'm watching a 20 year old man take a Zapper, play a round of Duck Hunt with the barrel pressed up against the screen, and gloat after a perfect round.

Yea, that was my feeling. I certainly don't know if he was guilty or not but the 1/2 game suspension seems to be saying we need to appear that we took this incident serious but we also want it to just go away. I know, a 1/2 game will do the trick. It sure did. They now look more incompetent than ever.

That's insanely harsh. Should not have been a second over 22 minutes 36 seconds.

two ways to look at this:

1. NCAA legitimately could not come up with evidence to prove that JF took money, but they wanted to do something so it looks like they tried.

2. NCAA didn't care if there was evidence or not - they let JF off with a slap on the wrist because he's a big draw, and not having him play would hurt ratings and merchandise sales.

If #1 is true, then the NCAA looks ineffective.

If #2 is true, then the NCAA looks like a bunch of hypocrites.

I hope #1 is true. If #2 is true, then this organization deserves to die a painful death.

To reference Jerry Tarkainian, The NCAA is so upset with Manziel and A and M, they are going to put
Portland State on probation for 3 years.
