JMS, Ibrahim, Terell Smith and Howden invited to combine

Great show of player development with none of them being transfers given the state of college football today!

MJ Anderson on that list. Didn't realize he declared.
Little surprised he got an invite. He didn't light it up at ISU but must have done enough that the scouts want to take a look at him as a potential draft pick.

That is a good point. Would be interesting to know how many of the guys on the list played their whole career for one school and how many were transfers.

Anyone know how the players are selected for the combine?

How many Gophers do we expect to get drafted? These four? These four plus? Less than these four? Anyone have a take on this?

Found this:

A committee of professional NFL talent evaluators coordinates the process for selecting which prospects will attend the Scouting Combine. The NIC, led by Jeff Foster, who has been president of NFS since 2005, coordinates the registration process and player logistics.

JMS, Mo, and Smith I think for sure. Hopefully Howden and Rush too, but they may be less sure bets.

It is nice to be invited, but far better to be drafted.

Locks:
Smith
JMS
Mo

In unless poor combine:
Howden

Odds greatly improve with a great Pro Day:
Rush
MSM
Chuck

More or less surprised than Howden?

It says 335 is the cap, for number of players they can invite in a year (doesn't always get up that high).

Of course, they invite guys every year from programs that aren't in the P5, but let's say that's the bulk of them. Say 280 per year from the P5, which is 65 schools (including Notre Dame).

That would be an average of 4.3 per P5 school. Would be interesting to know how many the P5 actually sent in total the last X years.
