How about eliminating Seantrel from the front page? He didnt want to be here!

Dont tell "censored"

As long as sentrell hadn't committed, IT WAS A BIG STORY!! But when he committed, it was over. And everyone wonders why young kids don't want to be GOPHERS. Kids that choose other schools get more ink than kids that choose Mn. It should be a BIG DEAL IN MINN. WHEN A KID DECIDES TO BE A GOPHER. We have to again make kids want to be gophers. The #'s 2 and 3 kids are becoming GOPHERS lets fill the pages with them. I'm more interested in a walkon than a #1 that leaves!!

stupid, He's not coming here, why would he continue to be on the banner? The argument for keeping him on is retarded......you should post on the badger and Iowa forums. Seriously.
The whole site exists because of Nadine and others. Pretty ironic that you criticize her and then tell others to post elsewhere. These are her choices. If you don't like them, you post elsewhere.

Mentioning SH in any thread should be a bannable offense. <img src="http://i132.photobucket.com/albums/q15/JerkDouglas/emot-smugbert.gif"/>

I have no issue with GL, she adds alot to this site., It's the the confused masses that actually think we should continue to showcase a player that dissed us. Deepsix the thread now, we don't xcare anymore, he was never coming here...lets showcase gophers.

You proved my point.

Thicker skin may be needed if a simple comment irks you that much.

I'm sorry, how did anything I say prove your point? Or were you simply copying my words to you? To lay this out like you're a 5 year old...You said, take the article down, you said only some people care, you said to move on - yet, you're the one who obviously care SO much, and this bothers you SO much that you are posting over and over on it. You are the one posting over and over on SH. If that doesn't show that people care, particularly yourself, I don't know what does?

You don't pretend that news didn't happen just because you don't like the way it turned out. You don't eliminate articles from your website just because they're outdated.

Exactly. If articles were taken down after they were outdated, we'd really have no record of what happened earlier, would we?

I have been wanting to put up for Nadine Babu. This woman works very hard to give the rest of us the information and stories we want. She is a real journalist, not an entertainer like most people with here access. I am positive 9.5 out of 10 people on this board would not be able to devote the time it takes to do what she does for us. Don't have to agree with her choice of stories (how could you not), you do have to appreciate her efforts. Last time I checked, this is a free site. I sometimes buy a news paper for 50 cents to read the sports page and often feel like I was ripped off. Too bad Nadine could not be the writer for Gopher sports in the news paper, we would get our money's worth and she would get paid. Its just a matter of time before she gets to the players who WANT to be here. If you don't want to read about the guy who got away, don't.

Thanks, GopherJay, I really appreciate your kind words - especially form someone that has very differernt thoughts on SH. This is proof that we can disagree (ran into GopherJay at the Signing day social, and he thought it was the biggest mistake for SH to go to USC, I thought USC was a good school, and think that he will be just fine there).

No disrespect was meant - at all.

I just thought the focus should be on the kids that want to be here, not the ONE that NEVER wanted to be here and PLAYED you for all you are worth.

Perhaps you should start that trend. Just glancing at your posting history - I don't believe you have made one post about any of the kids that signed with the Gophers. I do see a lot of posts about SH though. Perhaps you'd have a little more credibility if you focused on the kids that signed.

I agree to a point, but with a different solution. Rather than keep an article up on a kid who went elsewhere, how about put one up about the kids who came here (bumping SH off the front). Then again, what do I care -- I don't read the front page. ;-)

Sounds great - if you any of you guys have contact information of any of the signing class, and would like to do any interviews, I'd be happy to post them. I don't know if you've noticed this, but other than Seantrel, and Ethan Grant (per Mr. Keise's request), I haven't really covered any football this year, nor do I really have a desire to cover it in the future - because football recruitment is ridiculous, and more trouble than it's worth. I did cover it in 2008-09, and did stories on every single signee I had the contact info for, or would get back to me. Jake Ricker and Nick Walsh were the guys who did - i just said I'd cover SH because of the established relationship of knowing him since he was a sophomore. And FYI - there is a story about the article on the kids that committed - and I took time off in the middle of my crazy work schedule to listen to Brew's conference, and get up any note I could possibly type quick enough up before finishing up my day and heading to the Social.

If Brew didn't think he was a player for Seantrel, he sure did spend a lot of time and effort recruiting him up to the final gun.

Quite honestly - I don't think, even if SH had committed to USC earlier, that Brew would have eased up on his effort. Look at Michael Carter from last year, he announced on national TV, and Brew kept at him and got him to be a Gopher...I believe the same happened with Keanon Cooper the year before. No way would he of given up on top player in the nation in his own backyard. Thanks for all of your comments, GopherProf.

Gopher Lady is the messenger

She was able to get, let me put that differently, she is able to get interviews with recruits and maintains contact with them and their families through out the recruitment and beyond. She broke the signing as fast as any local media and used Gjere's picture.

You can attack or dismiss SH if you choose, which him well, or tell not to let the door hit him. Direct that to SH. It was his message. Not Gopher Lady's.

She is the go to source for Gopher Football news. Not WCCO, not KSTP, not KARE, not Star Tribune, Pioneer Press. Nobody covers it as well. And she covers it as a reporter. Asking the questions and printing the response. Just the facts. She has the best interest of the progam in mind, and if you call her a homer she will probably say, Thank You.

You all have to realize how lucky you are to have a source like this.

I would argue that she should be consider as a contributor to the radio broadcast. She at least knows all the players. Can you hear me learfield?

hang in there, GL. There are getting to be more and more of the basher and whiners and complainers and bitchers and moaners on GH all the time. And as a sideline, they are the ones who love getting into the pi$$ing contests, as illustrated on this thread. They talk, but say nothing. One, on the BB board, even sent me a PM complaining about me complaining about him. He's a BigGopherFan though! :)

Read it censored.

Listen d-bag, this is the point you CONTINUALLY FAIL TO COMPREHEND:

The SH article wasn't written after he chose to go elsewhere. It's not like GopherLady is writing more articles about kids that choose to go elsewhere. She isn't. So STFU and quit crying about it. Or do you still not get it? Do I have to explain it to you a fifth effin time? Whatever the case, I'm done with this thread. Buncha freakin' insecure babies around here. If the majority of Minnesota fans are as pathetic and petty as you, I don't blame the kid for leaving. Who would want to play for a group of such insecure losers?

We should just stop talking about that beyotch that is Seantrel Henderson. I hope he fails hard, that is if he even gets into school in the first place. Here's to Walker Lee Ashley 2.0

"Like it or not he was the #1 player in the nation all year long, he is from here, and people care."

True, he was the #1 player. And he is from the Twin Cities. Some cared, some didnt. Some only cared if he signed here.

"If people didn't care, people wouldn't be all up in arms about his commitement to USC."

I dont see many "up in arms". I do see lots of disappointment and quite bit of focus on the players that chose to sign here.

All I was suggesting was moving on - same thing Hendersen has done.

Long week? Geeeeeeeeeeeeeeeez.

PMGZ...get over yourself! If you don't like what you see and read here, then move along! Skip the Seantrel articles, don't look at his picture. No one needs or wants your comments here!

As it pertains to Henderson, there was no reason not to interview him and run the story prior to him committing to USC. However, now that he's committed to USC, there is no reason to interview him again. And as time passes, the Henderson article will simply fade away like all the other features written on this site. That's the way the media works.

If there had been a full article following Henderson's decision, then yeah, I would have been upset. But I can't find any fault with interviewing a kid, regardless of whether he's the nation's or state's top recruit, that hasn't committed to a school yet. Once the choice is made, then all bets are off in terms of interviews, especially for a site full of one school's fans. As such, I think GopherLady did her usual stellar job.

And I'm sure GopherLady and the rest of the Gopherhole staff will have plenty of interesting features on kids like Jimmy Gjere, Lamonte Edwards, J.D. Pride and other recruits in the coming months, all of which will push Henderson off the front page for good.

pmgz I would suggest you move on to another site.

Nadine most of us appreciate all the hard work you put in and aren't equipped with the entitlement complex this dude is sporting. Thanks for all the hard work.

I think the best option for all of us would be if someone just drew a cartoon mustache on seantrel's face on the front page. Then we can keep GL's story (one which i enjoyed reading, btw) and the whiners can get a little chuckle at seantrel's (non-gopher) expense. Who's in?
