Seems reasonable. I could see it coming down a little as the week goes on.

Northwestern may be 16th in the country, but I think we're the better team. We'll have to be much better on special teams though.

What so far would lead you to think that? jNW has wins over Stanford and Duke and the 3rd ranked scoring defense in the nation. Are they that good? Almost certainly not, but their resume is better than just about anyone else's in the Big Ten

I've seen them play. Their defense is good. Their offense is bad. I think we're better. I don't have any scientific thought behind my opinion.

Down to 6 even already on vegas insider.

Ryan field will be rocking..... Nope, couldn't keep a straight face.

After watching both teams play on Saturday and considering the opposition both teams were playing, if this point spread holds up I'm heading to Las Vegas.

With NW being ranked where they are, would this represent the biggest road win for Kill's Gophers? I don't remember what/if Nebraska was ranked last year. This could be a statement win for the Gophers...let's get it done!

Based purely on ranking, this would be the biggest Gopher upset since the upset of #11 Purdue in the 2005 season.

Since then the Gophers have gone 3-31 against ranked opponents, the wins coming against #21 Michigan in 2005, #25 Nebraska in 2013 and #21 Nebraska in 2014.

I usually tend to stay away from Northwestern games because they're never good enough to win when they're expected to, yet they always are plucky when they're expected to get blasted. Of course this year's team is different.

But, if I had to wager, I would take Minnesota with the points. MN-NW games are usually close, down to the wire games. The last 8 games between the two, 6 of them have been one possession games ('09, which Decker scored late to make it a two possession game, and '11, Kill's first year, are the exceptions). 3 of the 6 were 7 points (8 in '02), where the winning TD was a late play ('08 NW's INT return late & last year's Myrick kick return).

These two play tight, exciting games. I don't expect anything different this Saturday. I think a 3-4 point victory either way won't be a shock.

deja vu? two years ago NW opened their bigten schedule at #16

I like UNDER 40.5 a lot better than the points. This has 20-17 written all over it.

Thankfully we are unveiling all of our hidden weapons and blowing the cover off our playbook this weekend so we should easily cover.

LOL...yeah I reckon Jeff Jones scores 2 TD's on jet sweeps, Gentry gets 1 on a flea flicker, and Berk makes his season debut in the backfield with a double reverse score. :)

 I literally LOL'd at work from reading this. Picturing sarcasm just oozing from these words.

Everything about this game screams under, until I saw it was at 40.5

40.5 is simply far too low for any CFB game, gimme the over all day.

As of today

Wynn Casinos has NW by 4.0 and the over/under off the board

Boyd Casinos - NW by 4.0 and the o/u off the board

Westgate (formerly the LV Hilton) NW by 3.5 and the o/u at 40

Today, October 1

Wynn Casinos - NW by 3.5 and the over/under at 39

Boyd Casinos - NW by 3.5 and the o/u at 40

Westgate (formerly the LV Hilton) NW by 3.5 and the o/u at 39.5

Is this game the one where we finally see Harold Howell utilized in a way that maximizes his talents?

Thrown by Croft after a pitch from Perra.
