While I like the Gophers, this is a hard one. It is not like Nebraska does not have athletes, it is just that they have not had a lot of coaching and culture. I know Rhule is better than Frost and emotions will be high for NE.

From a overall talent perspective I can see us winning by 20+. From a crap happens in the first game and NE has enough athleticism to make things interesting I am confident we get the "W" just not sure if it will be close or not.

problem is only a TD and you lose. it's a tough line early. I like playing the total in this one and taking the gophers over on their points, which should be around 26 (score prediction 26-18 or so) which means you can also probably get gophers 13.5 pts in the first half, which is my favorite bet (I think we throw some exotic things out the gate and Rhule's crew is not ready, plus an amped crowd on top and we jump them). Wouldn't be surprised to see a back door cover out of Nebraska in this one with the Gophers going ultra conservative at some point.
 

This smells like Mich St last year or Colorado two years ago. We’re giving them more respect than they’ve earned, this is a bad team and we should win by three scores or more if we play well.

I took it to mean Gophs win by like 15...
 


I took them at -7.5 on Sun right before leaving Vegas. They're not even close to the correct line, but not as bad as was set for ND-Navy on Sat.
 



I would say Gophers run them off the field. Nebraska isn't Nebraska anymore and won't ever be again. Think Illinois or Purdue as their ceiling.

Gophers Big. hammer that over.

This is the first time I looked at the number, and was a little surprised to see it at (-7), or at least that's what it was in the first place I looked.

Not crazy about the "key number" of -7; I'd consider shopping around for -6.5 but I wouldn't look very hard. Week 1 games are brutal, tough to know what to expect. I'll lay off this one I think

Yeah, right now the only one they list that has the game at -6.5 is the Westgate.
