The Minnesota women's basketball team racked up numerous honors and milestones this past season and had several players etch their names into the school record books. Below is a list of some of those accomplishments from this year.

Team
  • Finished with a winning record for the third straight season and eighth time in the last nine years
  • Made the third most 3-pointers (238) and the third fewest turnovers (445) and turnovers per game (14.4) in program history
  • Recorded the fourth most 3-point attempts in team annals (653)
  • Had the fifth best regular season non-conference winning percentage (.909, 10-1) and free throw percentage (.754) in team history; free throw percentage was best in the Big Ten
  • Posted the eighth most regular season non-conference wins (10) in team history
  • Tallied the 10th best 3-point shooting percentage in team annals (.364)
  • Ranked 24th nationally with an average attendance of 3,899
  • The team's 11-game win streak from Nov. 10 to Dec. 28 was the sixth longest in team records, while the four-game road win streak was the seventh longest
  • Minnesota began the year 9-1, its fourth best 10-game start, while its 11-1 beginning was its fifth best one-loss start and its 11-2 record was its eighth best two-loss start
  • Making 11-of-18 3-pointers against Missouri State on Nov. 5, Minnesota's 61.1 percent from long range was its seventh best all-time.
  • Five turnovers committed against Vermont on Nov. 10 tied for Minnesota's third fewest since the 1982-83 season.
  • Milwaukee's 33 turnovers on Nov. 14 tied for 10th most by a Minnesota opponent and were the most since North Dakota State had 35 turnovers on Nov. 24, 2009.
  • The Gophers' 41 made field goals against Bryant on Nov. 26 tied for eighth most in a game at Minnesota. In addition, going 11-of-11 at the line marked the second most makes without a miss in program history behind a 17-for-17 performance against Indiana (3/7/19).
  • The team's 33-point margin of victory at George Washington on Dec. 10 tied for the seventh largest road win in program history and was the second largest in the last 37 years. Also, the Gophers' 13 made 3-pointers tied for 10th most at Minnesota.
  • Made 31 free throws at Ohio State on Feb. 13, tied for the 10th most in program history and tied for the most in the Big Ten this season
  • Set team Big Ten Tournament records with 11 made 3-pointers and 20 assists against Penn State on March 4
Freshmen
  • With Jasmine Powell averaging 12.1 points per game and Sara Scalia at 10.8, the Gophers' duo combined for the third best scoring combination ever among Gopher freshmen. With records dating back to the 1977-78 season, only two other freshmen duos have combined for more points in a season than Powell and Scalia: Lindsay Whalen (17.0) and Tanisha Gilbert (14.7) in 2000-01 and Linda Roberts (14.4) and Joan Kowalsky (11.2) in 1977-78. In fact, those are the only other times in team annals that two freshmen have each averaged double digits.
  • In addition, Powell and Scalia each won Big Ten Freshman of the Week honors twice this season. It's the first time in program history that multiple Gophers have won multiple Freshman of the Week accolades in one season since the award was introduced in 2009-10. They are two of seven players in Gophers history with two or more Freshman of the Week accolades.
  • The four freshmen that played this year (Powell (12.1), Scalia (10.8), Klarke Sconiers (2.5) and Barbora Tomancova (0.8)) combined for 26.2 points per game, the highest figure among Gopher freshmen in the last 13 years and fifth largest ever in program history.

These are all nice pieces of information.... but....
I go back to the Ohio St and North Western games at home, we had those games won to start the BIG. If so, the morale remains high, Pitts dosen't have the situation at Nebraska and the team wins 25 games. We go into next year with Pitts being our senior leader, we have to fill the Bello's shoes but I think we get more consistent next year at the 4/5 positions. The freshman are now Soph with a lot of experience and the gophers roll from there.
..... but Pitts took the Ohio St game hard, some people used social media to target her. We lose those games and Pitts has the NEb issue and we never recover.
The devil is in the details.
stay safe out there.
