As a part of Gopher Football game day this year, M Club President Quincy Lewis caught up with Gopher basketball alums, Bobby Jackson and J.B. Bickerstaff.
After his career with the Gophers, Jackson had a lengthy and successful career in the NBA that spanned 12 seasons, eight of which resulted in playoff appearances. After his playing career ended, Jackson has worked with several NBA teams and is now an assistant coach with the Sacramento Kings.
After graduating from the U of M in 2001, Bickerstaff joined Dan Monson's staff as director of operations before beginning a career in the NBA. He spent time as an assistant coach in Charlotte, Minnesota and Houston before becoming the head coach of the Memphis Grizzlies in 2017 where he served for two seasons. He recently completed his first season as the head coach of the Cleveland Cavaliers.
