FSU may not be Bowl Eligible

Appalachian St. isn't FCS. They finished 9-4, pounded 11-2 Toledo 34-0 in their bowl game, and would be favored against the Gophers on a neutral field.

They are FBS now. But we were discussing the intent of the rule; the context of using them as an example of FCS was circa +\-2006 (or whenever the NCAA began allowing one FCS opponents to count towards bowl-eligibility). App State was FCS then, and one of the best programs at that level.

To extend post #26, one other idea I've seen floated on message boards: have the P5 conferences no longer allow any FCS games to be scheduled, but get the NCAA to allow one true preseason exhibition game before Labor Day against an FCS team. This would serve the dual purpose of:
- taking away the huge negative aspect for P5 teams scheduling these games (nothing to win, everything to lose)
- providing P5 teams a 7th home game to sell, in the event that the 12 regular season games essentially need to be all against other P5 programs and be 6 home/6 away per year.
