Weren't Maturi's hands tied by the University By-laws stating that an athlete with a pending felony can't play. Maturi had no choice but to sit Trevor. He can't make an exception just because he might be one of our best atheltes

Trevor feels like he was promised by Tubby that he would be allowed to play and he has never let that go and still holds a grudge.

Are there similarities to this quote and testimony in the Jimmy Williams trial?

I'll ask the same question a few others have intimated at before:

If the student-athlete with these off-court issues was a Dominique Dawson, a Wade Hokenson, a Randy Chall (walk-ons on the end of the bench) or a random, anonymous athlete from one of the Gophers' non-revenue sports, instead of a Trevor Mbakwe or Royce White, would we have the same amount of dialogue & outrage (toward the U/Joel's decision) on this board?

Absolutely not. The level of the athlete's (perceived) ability has everything to do with the level of outrage. Just a thought.
