For the first time ever Minneapolis will host Big Ten Basketball Media Days. The event October 11 and 12 at Target Center will include coaches and players from all 28 men’s and women’s basketball programs. Minnesota coaches Ben Johnson and Lindsay Whalen will speak October 12.

I love when Ohio State Coach, Chris Holtmann took the podium and said this:

“Appreciate the city of Minneapolis hosting Big Ten media day,” he said. “I know there's some reports of coaches complaining about it being up here, but suffice it to say I wouldn't take it personal. We're coaches. We'd complain if it was in our back yards.”

That was announced in April.

Big Ten adds Minneapolis as hoops tourney site

Minneapolis will host the Big Ten women's basketball tournament in 2023 and both the men's and women's tournaments in 2024.
