The Twitter stalker in me saw this last night from Justin Cobbs ..

Where imma be next year ??? Everybody wanna know

Is he staying, going, or undecided?

This really annoys me. Especially from someone who isnt that big of a deal. He could be a good PG for us, but his lack of character has shown recently. If he has a dicision to make, then make it. Until then, shut up.

Cobbs should delete his twitter account. He's been making a fool of himself ever since the season ended.

Everybody wanna know ??? Sure Gopher fans are curious to some degree. I don't really care either way. I'd almost prefer he leaves Tubby ALLOWS Royce back and make PG #1 priority for the 2011 class. Who else wants to know, upper level D1 schools? NOPE.

Let's get over it

Folks..perhaps there is a generation gap at play but Twitter and facebook are part of everyday life. Today is not 1995 let alone 2005, I would suggest folks get used to the new social media. I don't fault kids for using twitter to express things...it's how it's done today.

my thoughts exactly. if he stays, fine, we need a back-up. if he leaves, not really a huge loss. it may have worked for royce, but let's admit, royce is a 5 star recruit, and a phenomenal basketball player....cobbs, is ok. no one is hanging on the edge of their seats waiting for this one, and he looks foolish trying to draw attention to himself.

I don't think people have issue with the social media- it is the whole "will I, won't I" drama that bothers people. These kids seem to need WAY too much attention.

I don't think its necessarily an ego/attention thing, although I won't argue that there may be some ego/attention involved. I think its more related to the Twitter concept itself. Think about it. What the heck can you post on there daily? What you ate for lunch? Are you regular today or not? I mean the significant material is pretty slim, so when somebody has something that is anything more interesting than 'how many stairs I climbed today', they probably want to play that out as long as they can. While our generations answer to this scenario would be to just not post, for the younger generations this is not an option, they are so attached to this stuff that abstaining from Tweeting is incomprehensible. So I think this is more of a Twitter creation than anything else.

If you don't like what his twitter says, quit stalking him on twitter

I would suggest "stalker" players on social media, then running back to report every little phrase and word, while attaching your own definition of what it might mean better describes "acting like a fool."

People need to stop using the word "stalking" in reference to social media sites. First of all, it's horribly excessive to even use that word, and secondly, it's not even accurate. People put these things out there for everyone to read. It's not as though someone is going into Justin Cobb's desk at his dorm room, stealing a handwritten letter out of his drawer, and posting it on the internet for everyone to read. Sheesh.

You people are trying to read into this like it's some ancient text that holds the mysteries of the universe. Please stop following these athletes on twitter and facebook, or at least stop using them as sources for your useless rumors.

The OP is the only one who is admittedly "stalking" on Twitter. The rest of the posts in this thread are a response to that original post and a commentary on the Twitter phenomena.

I got no beef with Justin Cobbs. It is totally his decision whether to stay or go, he has made friends with a number of people; he's a very likable young man. It's clear he misses being home and who could begrudge him of that? Whatever he does, let's be grateful to him for being a Gopher. Hopefully he will end up doing what makes him personally most happy.

I agree. Especially with Twitter the whole point is to see how many followers you can get and then put something out there. Anyone can follow you. It's hardly stalking.

Facebook is a little different, as you have approve everyone who 'friends' you. Personally, I find it a little creepy to 'friend' Royce White or JC or whoever if you've never met them. That said, any high-profile person who puts something out there knows it's for public consumption.

those arguing that stalking is the wrong word are completely missing the message. I'll rephrase, if you dislike what the twitter says, stop following it.

Okay, so then "creeping." I think that's what they call it anyway. I have some college-aged friends on FB, and I've heard them talking about so-and-so (no, not me...lol) "Facebook creepin'," which basically means that someone is looking at anything and everything on their profile. :D

I haven't done that but I guess that's a fair argument. Anyway, he's better off not saying that kind of stuff.

It's possible to follow something and then dislike a single comment and discuss it. If someone complains about every comment then your argument makes more sense.

Other than Cobbs being released from his scholarship I'm not sure I ever saw or read an official, Cobbs is leaving statement from the U.

Oh well ..

He tweeted yesterday ..

Last day in minnesota FOREVER.

Good luck to him.

He made a parting comment at us or Royce White .. I'm not sure which.

Lol royce white go his own fan blog page . Yall fans are a trip sometimes . Leave that man alone pause .

Now that we've learned more about Cobbs in the last two months, I can't say I'm very sad to see him go. What a whiner.

Well at least I got to see Cobbs before he is gonna FOREVER. He was at Mystic Lake Casino last night. Decked out in Minn gear too. I didnt talk to him though, cuz I dont know him. He was by himself too. I didnt see anyother basketball players there.
