Wolverines’ JT Compher, Buckeyes’ Christian Frey and Gophers’ Adam Wilcox claim honors

First Star

JT Compher, Michigan
F – Fr. – Northbrook, Ill.

· Recorded five points (three goals and two assists) and a plus/minus rating of +5 to lead Michigan to a series sweep of Michigan State
· Scored his seventh goal of the season to break a scoreless tie in the second period of Thursday’s 2-1 victory at Joe Louis Arena
· Added a career-high four points on Friday with two goals and a pair of assists, including his conference-leading third shorthanded goal of the season
· Leads all Big Ten freshmen with 1.00 points per game this season
· Claims his second career Big Ten weekly award and first since being named Second Star on Dec. 3, 2013
· Last Michigan honoree: Zach Nagelvoort (First Star) on Dec. 17, 2013

Second Star

· Stopped 36 of the 37 shots he faced (.973 save percentage) to lead Ohio State to a 3-1 win over No. 9 Wisconsin Saturday at the Kohl Center
· Registered 27 saves in the first two periods as the Buckeyes skated out to a 2-1 advantage
· Recorded nine more saves in the third period to preserve the one-goal lead until the Buckeyes added a late empty-net goal
· Improves his record to 3-1-0 with a .923 save percentage since joining the team for the spring semester
· Earns his first career Big Ten weekly award
· Last Ohio State honoree: Ryan Dzingel (Second Star) on Jan. 14, 2014


Third Star

Adam Wilcox, Minnesota
G – So. – South Saint Paul, Minn.


· Named Most Valuable Player of the North Star College Cup after recording 76 saves and a .938 save percentage to lead Minnesota to the tournament title
· Recorded a career-high 38 saves and added his third career assist in Friday’s 4-1 win over No. 5 St. Cloud State
· Matched his career high for saves during Saturday’s 4-4 tie with Minnesota Duluth, then stopped both shots he faced in the championship-deciding shootout
· Leads all Big Ten goalies and is tied for second nationally with 17 victories this season
· Earns his second career Big Ten weekly award and first since being named Third Star on Jan 14, 2014
· Last Minnesota honoree: Sam Warning (Second Star) on Jan. 21, 2014
