Anyone else remember the Badger fan base mocking Fleck for branding us as B1G West champs in football although we tied with Wisconsin (we did lose the tie breaker)? Funny to see them do the same with hoops as they have tied with Illinois and don't have the 1 seed in the B1G tourney (lost the tie breaker) but is also on brand.

Parts of our own fanbase couldn't deal with the co-champs concept either and complained about it. One small distinction though, Fleck didn't brand us a Big Ten West Co-Champs.....the Big Ten named us Big Ten West Co-Champions that year.

It wasn't like UCF claiming a national title. Co-champs happen all the time in sports but fans struggle with it because the tie has to be broken for title games and seeding so that somehow invalidates the accomplishment for a lot of them.

UCF has a national championship by an ncaa selector btw
 

How does a team lose to the 14th place team in its league an only drop 2 spots in AP poll ?
