What a great week to have for the team going into PSU. Whether the fans liked Royce or not, the fact is, the guys on the team LOVED him. It's gotta be heartbreaking for them to have him back in practice, only to lose him again. Sure, Royce was playing a game a chicken with Tubby and lost, but I can assure you that the players are not so apt to blame everything on Royce like most fans do. There's been a lost of hostility towards Maturi since he suspended Royce and Mbakwe, so I'm sure that hostility will only manifest. The players wanted and expected Royce to suit up and play at some point this year. To have him start practice again, and then say he won't play the rest of the season is crushing.

Between those 2 players and Al Nolen not playing, I can see why we got blown out by Ohio State. I only hope they can regroup and take care of Penn State. If not, we're going to the NIT and I think there's enough blame to spread around if that happens.

Heck, here you almost had me convinced it was all Joel Maturi's fault and now you go socialist on us and try to spread the blame around. You fickle southerners are just too much. Hard to cotton to ya'll when you say one thing and then 'nother.

BTW, can we steal a page out of UK's book and just blame Monson? Or Dutcher?

The blame goes all the way back to then AD Paul Giel, or was it way back then to Coach John Kundla?

Um, what's the basis for this statement? Personally, I haven't heard anything from the players showing their "love" for Royce White. And I doubt that they are now crying "woe is me, Royce isn't here." If you think that, fine. But how much can you love a guy who quit because he didn't get his way? How much can you love a guy that got himself into trouble to the point where he wasn't even allowed at practice for most of the season? Trust me, I've dealt with college athletes in the past and I wouldn't be surprised if many of them do not "love" Royce White and probably don't consider him some kind of "victim" despite the claims of some on this board.

As such, I see this as just another veiled attempt to blame Tubby and Maturi for Royce's own short-comings.

My sources in the Capital tell me it was the Herschel Walker trade.

I blame it on the Ghosts of the Gopher Floor. When they took up that damn floor they opened a gateway into athletic hell. Everyone should return the pieces they bought so they can be sacrificed at a makeshift alter as so to appease the gods.

Fact is, this team has enough talent to win it's fair share of games and make the tournament in a relatively week big ten this year (middle and lower record teams). They have just played sloppy ball and poor defense of late. Let's stop blaming the what ifs and hold the team and the coach accountable the rest of the way. I am not ready to write this team off. The mental aspect of this game is 90% of determining success. Do you want to win? Do you know your role on the team? Can you play within yourself or play at a higher level when called upon? We should still expect to finish 5th or 6th in the conference this year. But, we will have to play better than we have the last couple of weeks.

Monsy, from the tone of your comments, if you had it your way we would return to the days of Adolf Rupp...

Wish away. We will likely win 18 games. Not enough to get us to the dance. I hope you are right but I am just hoping we beat Penn State, which I predict we will lose.

Have you ever said anything constructive during your time in the GH? I'm still looking for a comment from you that actually said anything basketball related. Have you ever tried to think for yourself instead of following the other Senior members around in here and not saying anything?

? #1 I would like to think that in my approx 5 years on GH that I have. Seems as though you have only been around for less than 2 months(at least with this moniker) so I won't expect you to be a GH historian.

? #2 Yes I've tried to think on each and every post I have made. Sometimes successfully and sometimes not successfully.

BTW Thanks for your illustrious insight on 'Senior members'.

As for being constructive here is my latest attempt: Many posters on GH would appreciate it if you would discontinue your continuous ranting and rambling, redundant posts, mean spirited name calling and know-it-all attitude-or quit posting.
